About This Listing
Homely four bedroom cottage overlooking the beautiful Dunmanus Bay. A destination for all seasons - cuddle up beside an open fire in winter, or in fairer weather enjoy award winning scenic walking routes the length of the peninsula.
Rosskerrig Holiday House is set in the idyllic surrounds of West Cork, on the Sheep’s Head Peninsula overlooking the beautiful Dunmanus Bay, between Ahakista and Kilcrohane villages. The charming house has a south facing aspect which allows for the best views of the picturesque countryside, across Dunmanus Bay to the Mizen Peninsula.
The property includes three double rooms, two of which are ensuite, and a twin room. The property has central heating, as well an open fire (lovely for those brisk winters nights!) in the spacious living room, and a separate large kitchen / dining room with all mod-cons.
A warm welcome awaits in any of the local bars and restaurants, with food options available (happy to provide some local recommendations) to suit all budgets. In a addition to the many walking and cycling routes for which the peninsula is famous, other local leisure activities include, swimming, fishing, kayaking, sailing and cookery classes to name but a few...
In addition to the many local sights and activities, the property is also an excellent stop-off point on the Wild Atlantic Way - a 2,500km tourism trail (driving route) along the west coast of Ireland, from Cork to Donegal, which takes in some of the countries most breath taking scenery.
It's peaceful, tranquil with endless fresh air!
Public transport is poor in the area, your own transport is strongly recommended.

Micheal was a very nice and helpful host. The house is situated on a hillside with a 180 degree view over the entire bay. From most of the bedrooms , the living room and the dining table you've got sea views ! Just amazing! All the rooms are nicely decorated and very clean . It's the same in the rest of the house. The location is very good . Bantry can be reached in about 20 minutes . Fishing on the pier and the famous Sheepshead is only 15 - 20 minutes away. We will definitely come back again and especially thanks to Micheal for his hints for excursions.

We had a lovely stay at Mary and Michael's house! The house is very clean, cosy and perfectly equipped. The area around the house is beautiful and we enjoyed the long walks there! As there is no bigger supermarket nearby you should be prepared! Mary was really nice and made us feel welcome!
