An amazing villa with stunning views.
The villa is well equipped for large groups. The bedrooms are well sized and beds do just fine. The kitchen is fantastic and can handle catering for large groups.
The views across the valley and to the sea are sublime. Eating eggs for breakfast on the balcony in the morning was delightful.
Outdoors, there is a brilliant BBQ area with a large table for outdoor dining. There's even an outdoor sink and fridge for your beers. The pool was clean and just perfect for us.
Also the villa is well hidden from neighbors and the road. You really feel like you are cut off from the rest of the world while you are there - apart from the odd cat!
It's a great value and I'd would love to revisit.
The location was beautiful. The view was magnificent. Mostly the house was comfortable. However, there were many things wrong. I wonder if anyone from AirB&B ever looked at the property. The first thing is that nowhere in the description in the website does it tell future renters that access to the house is very difficult. There are physical and safety issues involved. We are in our 80's and if our sons hadn't been with us, we could never have made it up the stairs to the house with our luggage. There are many, many steep, irregular stone steps up. THERE IS NO HANDRAIL NOR ANYTHING TO HOLD ONTO. There should be a warning to elderly, handicapped, or physically impaired people that this property is not for them.
As to the house itself--the description on the website states that there are three bathrooms with toilet in the main house. We assumed that meant a toilet in each bathroom. There are, however, only 2 bathrooms with toilet in them, and a separate shower in the laundry room. The shower in the ground floor bathroom had a broken door and could not be used. The mirror over the sink in the upstairs bathroom was so high up nobody could use it. The sink in the lower floor bathroom was so tiny that we had to be careful about turning on the water or it would splash over onto the floor.
The lighting in the kitchen consisted of one low-wattage ceiling fixture and the room was very dark in the evening when trying to prepare dinner.
The house was poorly equipped with basic essentials. We've rented many properties in several countries and this was the first time there was no toilet paper, paper towels, dishwashing liquid, laundry detergent. There was neither toaster nor microwave. Every place has a microwave these days, and our son had to carry the one from the studio apt. up for us to use. (There was a microwave in the apt. because there was no oven at all.)
We didn't expect to have to rent something as basic as sheets and towels, but having agreed to do it, we were appalled to find that we paid for 2 towels per person, of a very poor quality--thin and scratchy. And there were no towels to use for the pool, or for the beach, both of which are advertised as desirable amenities.
The amenities on the website said there was A/C. We were told when we were brought to the house that there was no A/C, but there were 2 upstairs, one in the lounge and one in the smallest bedroom.
When we went to use the wardrobe in the largest bedroom, we found it was filled with blankets, pillows, etc. which we had to move into an unused bedroom in order to be able to use the closet. Same situation in the upstairs room. The apt. was very spartan with very few amenities.
Most complaints could be easily be addressed,
Oren's house is just wonderful : located on a mountain in a nice neighbourhood with a sea view. The house is ideal to relax with a family : we enjoyed the swimming pool, having breakfast every morning outside, the barbecue... The house is very clean and well maintained. The village is also very convenient with all shops available within 5 minutes drive. Thank you Oren. We hope we can come back.
