Lovely position in the middle of Marais. The apartment is small , simple but cosy. The contact person has been very kind and she allowed us to leave the suits in the office after the check out. Positive experience.
Location, location, location. If you are looking for a nice little apartment in a great location this flat is for you. It is close to Notre Dame and has easy access to the Metro. The neighborhood was very good, is a little noisy at night. We had some concerns: a machine above the toilet was broken and leaked on us if we used the rest room (not resolved during our stay), the apartment was much smaller than the photos made it appear (but it is Paris!) and the shower head was only at my belly button (no really...).
Good things: In all of the arrondissemonts I have stayed, this was by far my favourite. Also, considering the costs in Paris compared to basically everywhere else in the world, the cost was reasonable. The bed was comfortable, the shower was good. It is situated very close to St Paul metro station, and maybe 20 minutes from Gare du Nord.
Things to be improved upon: This is in an apartment complex, thus sometimes the building managers (like on the day of our arrival) put up signs in French In the afternoon on the day of, and I cannot read French, state that they will be waxing the floors and there is no access allowed from 1am - 4am, so when I got back, I was not permitted access to the apartment, and had to literally watch the wax dry for 30 minutes while a man stood guard. Secondly, using the toilet was rather annoying. The water heater was situated directly above the toilet, and sweat constantly, so you would be using the facilities and constantly being dripped on down your back and no amount of rearranging your position would allow for you to avoid a wet shirt.
Warnings: The apartment is 5 floors up and there is no lift. Be prepared to carry all your belongings for numerous stairs. Also, there is a night club just down the block which is open until very late, so when you go to sleep with the windows open, you will think they are partying right at your feet. I woke up a few times thinking someone was in the room only to find it was people smoking outside the window.
In the end, we got what we paid for.
The location is great and easy to get to the metro from. It is a very small space and probably best suited to one person. Wouldn't recommend if you're not up for a lot of stairs, but if you don't mind it wasn't a big deal.
Very easy and simple check in a great location. Some sheets were a bit dirty when we first got there, there was leaking above the toilet that was annoying, and certain things like the radiators were not stable. Otherwise good area to stay in.
What can I say? Lovely studio apartment very centrally located right in the middle of the Marais. It was fantastic. Love the proximity to rue des Rosiers. The pictures are very accurate. Massimo was incredibly helpful and responsive when we arrived. A great experience.
