About This Listing
You won't find a prettier backyard...you can even get married here! 3 Bedroom, 3 Full baths, Living Room, Dining Room, Huge Kitchen and Fireplaced Den make this house a perfect getaway for any group of family or friends.
We love our neightborhood! It's quiet, friendly neighbors and best of all we just walk to the beach. What's great about heading into the fall is the kids are back to school, th beaches are quite and we can run the dogs for hours on end.
The nightlife and activities here on the shoreline is what brought us here. You won't find us sitting home watching TV...just busy trying to decide wether it's a casino night, concert or show at the Garde Arts Center or a great dinner at the many diverse restaurants on and around the water.
It's so easy to hop on a train downtown (minutes from the house) and be in Boston or New York City within 2 hours. Or be adventerous and hop on the ferry to Block Island, Long Island or Fishers Island. Or spend a leisurely day in Newport, a short drive from the house.
With so much to do, you'll have to come back year after year as some of our guests have already found!
Hope to see you soon!
Suzanne's house was perfect for our group of eight. We especially enjoyed spacious den as well as the beautiful backyard. Suzanne was very prompt in terms of communication and thoughtful - she even left us a pass for parking at the local beach (a short walk or drive away). Although we didn't see a lot of activity in New London itself and the house is in a residential neighborhood, this getaway was perfect for us since we were looking for a low-key weekend. If you are looking for activity, the house is just a 10 minute drive from the ferry to Long Island and a half hour drive from at least one casino. The only issue we had was that the beds were a softer than we prefer, but overall we were very comfortable in Suzanne's house. Thanks for the enjoyable stay, Suzanne!
The house itself was incredibly spacious, with several different rooms to relax in.
Outdoors was amazing - huge grill, outdoor shaded patio, with optional netting to keep out bugs at night.
The kitchen and baths were clean and functional, the tiles and colors brought me back to my childhood home in the 70's.
The neighborhood was quiet and nice, though it has more of a suburban feel than a beachy one. The parking pass to use at Ocean beach park was great they charge a lot of you don't have one. Ocean park itself hasn't been updated sine the 70's but has a kind of charm.
Our host was very mellow about our late arrival and was very helpful with all inquiries.
Our large family had a wonderful time at Suzanne's house. It was incredibly comfortable and Suzanne was very attentive via phone. There was plenty of space to sprawl out and relax, and plenty of nice cushy sofas to do it in!
We also very much enjoyed getting to explore New London. There are a number of beautiful, unique homes throughout the city in addition to a nice variety of cafes and restaurants to check out. We were traveling with a number of children under ten, and Ocean Beach Park was ideal. Clear water, small waves, safe and sunny.
The home was bigger then expected and fit our large group comfortably. Even though it rained we had a wonderful time in CT!
our experience with suzanne's place was really seamless. we rented the house with a number of friends for a college reunion and it was perfect for lots of people and comings and goings. the house was immaculate and the yard was gorgeous. suzanne was very flexible and accommodating and the location was terrific. thumbs up!
AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING. This was our first experience with airbnb and I am hooked . The pictures do no justice for the space, in person it is BEAUTIFUL !!!! The house really feels like you're walking into your own home, there was sooooo much space. The back yard feels like your own piece of heaven- quiet , serene and calm, but also the perfect space for entertaining and having a nice evening, our evening meals were all done on the grill. The den was where we spent a lot of time - fantastic space, the kids played video games and we watched many movies curled up on the couch ( it was a bit cold on Sunday)
We could hear the birds singing in the morning and this was just by far one of my best Memorial Day Weekends. The beach was literally two blocks away, and the entire area was wonderful, we made friends with Elaine and Kathy next door and my dog got to play with them for a bit.
Suzanne made everything so easy in spite of the fact that we booked last minute on Saturday to arrive that same night. She even let us stay late on Monday because we really didn't want to leave. (I'm still going through withdrawal).
I wish that I could give this space 10 stars because that is truly what it deserves.
