Tim and Joan have an absolutely awesome spot! The cabin was lovely and we had a blissful and relaxed Christmas here. We played board games, explored the hills behind the cabin, cooked an excellent meal on Christmas day and were close enough to Asheville for an easy day trip. The place really was beautiful and Tim and Joan were fantastic hosts - super friendly, quick to respond to our messages and very welcoming. Would definitely recommend a stay here!
Such a cute and quaint log cabin. Joan and Tim have spent a lot of time making it cozy and you can tell they maintain it well. Perfect place for a private family get away and close enough for a day trip to Asheville. They did an excellent job explaining the history of the cabin and the area, which are both gorgeous. Thank you for letting us stay in your cabin.
I have stayed at a lot cabins including ones with hot tubs and pool tables. However this cabin is by far one of my favorite ones. It looks rustic but is fully modern. I love the seclusion and all the land it sits on unlike some of the other cabin rentals that are stacked on top of each other. Tim was a great host and answered any question I had. Direcetions were perfect and could not ask for a better host. I will share this with all my freinds and family and hope to return soon. I had a great time.
Not sure what the policy is but would love to bring my dog along on the next trip. Understand if that is not allowed.
Great place. Was larger and more spacious then what we were expecting from the photos. The house was very clean and comfortable. Beautiful and secluded setting, but still close to Asheville and Marshall. A great place for a peaceful and relaxing stay!
Remote, private and peaceful -- this cabin was just what we were looking for. And because it's both comfortable and well-maintained, we could relax. I'm back to my reality, and already missing morning coffee on the porch, watching the mist rise over the mountains.

I have several rental properties across North Carolina that I own/manage, mainly corporate short-term rentals in the RTP area. I live in Asheville and work out of Cary, NC. My wife Joan and I manage the Mountain Log Cabin for her father. This lovely home was built as a family weekend retreat, but we just don't have the time to enjoy it - so we are sharing it with visitors to the area.
