  • We had the most fantastic week in dubrovnik staying at Nela's gorgeous authentic apartment. From the first moment of booking Nela was informative and prompt to reply to our questions.
When her husband was unable to pick us up from the airport as planned she sent one of her best friends who talked to us about his life and country. He also owned the family run restaurant at the bottom of the steps to the apartment where we ate most nights.
Checkin was effortless and Nela took the time to make sure we knew how to get around by bus. The bus stop is also at the bottom of the steps.
Although the apartment is about 15-20 minutes from the old city it is much quieter and a scenic drive too.
At the end of our stay Nela's strong husband took our luggage downstairs for us and took us to the airport at 5.00am!! He even came in for a coffee. These personal touches certainly make a difference when traveling. We would recommend this apartment.

  • Nela and her husband Luksa were so hospitable. We enjoyed staying in their little apartment during our visit in Dubrovnik. We were about a 10-15 minute bus ride from the old city and it was extremely easy to catch the bus back and forth from their place. Luksa was so kind to pick us up and drop us off at the airport. We had a great time talking with him in the car. We would definitely stay at their place again if we went back to Dubrovnik. Thank you Nela and Luksa!

  • Our stay in Nela's beautiful apartment by the river was smooth from start to finish. Nela and her husband and are wonderful, warm and helpful people who make newcomers to Dubrovnik feel like they have already have a family there. That's how we felt. They have excellent taste in terms of restaurants, beaches and islands to visit and are patient with any number of queries you might have.

Nela was kind enough to stock our fridge with the basics when we arrived and has maintained a simple yet homely apartment that has the most charming views of Dubrovnik. We couldn't have asked for better hosts who now feel like old friends to us.

The apartment is located right next to an excellent restaurant called Konaba Bonaca where we had the best meals and the most polite service while enjoying the stunning river view. The flat is right opposite a bus stop that ferries you to the old town, which is the touristic part of the city.

Our stay with Nela and her husband was perfect, we really got lucky with this one and it really set the right tone for the rest of our travels through Croatia.

  • First off I want to say that the patio is just as beautiful as that photo! My Mom and I enjoyed the view and ambience of that wonderful space everyday.
Nela and her husband were very accomodating with our travel plans, picking us up at the bus station and driving us to the airport. Her husband provided us with lots of advice about transit, eating out and activities while in Dubrovnik. They were always willing to answer questions and wanted to ensure we throughly enjoyed our stay.
Unfortunatly due to the narrow roads (without any sidewalk) nearby, it makes it impossible to go for a walk or jog. There was a bus stop nearby though making it easy to get into the town.
I would recomend staying here for a relaxing and quiet stay, away from the masses of tourists in the old city!

  • Couldn't have asked for better hosts. My wife and I were picked up from our previous cruise. The location was super convenient with the bus stop being across the road (under 10mins to old town) a great family eatery with generous portion for what you pay for also. The accommodation itself was comfortable and what we both needed after a party cruise with great views to compliment the place. We both loved the location and hosts and would not hesitate to return if we return to croatia one day.

  • This apartment is a dream. It is situated on the ground floor of a beautiful stone house full of character and charm. The bed is very comfortable and the bathroom has a lovely big bath to soak in. I had trouble sleeping as I kept getting up and walking out onto the 'picture book' patio and taking in the ambience. The house is well situated in a lovely friendly neighbourhood. Directly below is a gorgeous small restaurant serving well prepared local food. Across the road is the bus stop and the sea. It was a perfect way to end a hot day swimming with the local people from the neighbourhood, then crossing the road to have a drink and eat superb local food. My flight arrived late at night but Luksa was waiting for me to drive me back to the apartment. Even though it was very late he made sure I had all the information I needed to get to where I needed to go the following day. I loved my time spent with Luksa, Nela and their beautiful daughter Emma. I know we will communicate and our friendship will continue to grow. We will see each other again, be it here in New Zealand or Dubrovnik.

  • Nela and her husband Luksa couldn't have been more helpful and gracious. The apartment is big, clean, perfect for our needs. There are a few steps, but you only have to carry the luggage up once. They had wine and cheese prepared for us when we arrived. The grape vine covered terrace was lovely, a great place to eat. When my traveling companion lost his wallet, Nela spent hours with us as we tried to contact the credit card companies, which can't be called collect from Croatia. She finally figured out to post a request on Citibank's (website hidden) page, and they called us ! Luksa took us to the airport for a 7am flight, that alone is worth staying for ! We recommend this to others.

  • We found our hosts to be very helpful, friendly but non-intrusive. They picked us up from the airport (even tho' the flight was delayed), talked and showed us the bus timetable, maps and best places to eat. We felt we could ask or call them anytime. The local knowledge was very much appreciated. The platter of cheese/meat, fresh bread and wine was very welcome which we enjoyed under the grapevine with a beautiful view. The apartment was clean, private, functional and spacious with a washing machine and we could come and go without feeling intrusive. We loved staying here and would highly recommend it to anyone.
