About This Listing
Our fabulous 3 bedroom (2 private bedrooms plus connected den, it sleeps like a 3 bedroom with 3 Queen beds) home in a converted warehouse on Halsted street between North Avenue and Division Street. It’s roughly halfway between the highway and Lake Shore Drive, 2 blocks from the Red Line to downtown or the north side, and equal distance from the North and Division buses that run to Wicker Park and Bucktown.
Why choose us?
*Three Queen (double) beds
- 2 triple bedrooms
- 1 double den
*No need to turn the living room into a bedroom!*
*Two full bathrooms (one with a shower/bath combo, the other a walk in shower)
Amazing gourmet kitchen - seriously - this is an amazing kitchen - if you are a foodie or your vacation involves everyone gathering around the granite island making dinner together - there is no better space around than ours.
*Great restaurants & shopping nearby
*Great transportation to everywhere
*Friendly, experienced vacation rental owners
This part of Lincoln Park is a great location for those who drive in, since there is still free street parking but since we’re mostly surrounded by loft office buildings, parking during the weekend is very easy - though it is also quite easy to reach by public transportation from either O'hare or Midway.
This newly renovated 2nd floor loft sleeps 2 – 9 guests. The master bedroom sleeps 2 in a Queen bed and can also sleep one adult or 2 children on a convertible bed and the connected den sleeps another 2 guests on Queen bed. The second bedroom sleeps 2 in a Queen bed and 1 in a single. Our beds are super comfortable Sealy Posturepedic beds - bought in 2013 for use in this apartment. The living room sofa converts to a daybed for 1 guest.
There are two full bathrooms – one with a walk in shower, the other with a combination bath and shower.
Our fantastic chef's kitchen is fully stocked with everything you'll need to create a quick breakfast or a gourmet feast. Featuring a Garland commercial oven, Sub Zero refrigeration and Miele dishwasher.
Our Home on Halsted is conveniently located to both the highway and Lake Shore Drive and we have a north south bus line at our doorstep, two east west bus lines just steps north or south and the Red Line subway just two blocks north. Of course it's possible that you may not need to venture anywhere you'll need transportation, since walking distance from us you'll find not only the city's largest Whole Foods Market, but also the Chicago's Little Michigan Avenue with shops like Sephora, Banana Republic, Victoria's Secret, J. Crew, Restoration Hardware, Crate and Barrel, Nordstrom's Rack (opening soon), Express, the Gap, West Elm, and more ... and it's also a mecca for theater goers and foodies: We're home to Steppenwolf Theater and the Royal George, and dining options include the Michelin star foodie favorites Alinea and Boca, as well as more down to earth options like SoNo Woodfired Pizza, Uncle Julios Hacienda, Vinci, King Crab, Goose Island Brewery and Japonais.
If exploring the city's diverse neighborhoods is your thing, we're at the crossroads of bus lines that can get you just about anywhere: Halsted street to the south takes you to our favorite: Greektown; and then to Little Italy and Pilsen; North Avenue to the east takes you to Old Town and the Gold Coast (also just a 10 15 minute walk); Division street to the west takes you into Wicker Park and Ukrainian Village, while North Avenue west lands you in Bucktown and the Halsted bus to the north takes you to Lakeview and Boystown.
If you have other questions about our home, feel free to ask. If you would like to reserve, you can do so via this site but we also have a separate reservation form we ask guests to sign which will be sent to you once you've booked here. SPECIAL NOTE: We prefer a 3 night stay but will accept 2 night stays with a surcharge.
We're looking forward to hosting you in our Chicago home soon!

We love hosting guests in our vacation rental homes in Chicago and in Greece and we love sharing our two favorite cities - Athens & Chicago, with our guests. So, don't hesitate to knock on our door - we're always happy to help with dining suggestions, touring idea or just to open a bottle of wine & get to know our guests - so don't be shy.
Carole was great to work with from the start. She clearly cares a lot about making it a nice experience. The home was lovely, and as described, and she met us when we arrived to answer any questions. The home had some signs to help explain anything we might want to know, and maps and info on local stuff. It's clear they are proud of their city and home, and it meant a lot.
She even left us a delicious bottle of high-end local beer for an official Chicago welcome.
Great place, very spacious and well suited for a family or a couple of families. Place was clean with everything you need. Location was very close to public transport. Very easy check in process. Overall I would highly recommend to anyone. Thanks for a great place to stay for our vacation.
The place is fantastic. Neighborhood is perfect. We were greeted by Kosta, the owners' son. He welcomed us, and he was very helpful. We really enjoyed our stay. All 7 of us were very comfortable. Amenities are world class. Very spacious, and well furnished living area provided a perfect setting. Thank you Kosta, Carole, and Basil. Your place made our Chicago trip unforgettable...
Carole and Basil's loft is fantastic! The space is open, bright, and stylish -- and such a convenience to have five beds! The Near North Side neighborhood is coming up fast, with fun shops and restaurants, and ample evidence that more is on the way. And Lincoln Park is only a short walk away. Quick and easy access to the Loop, Wrigley, Second City, and the beach. The loft was absolutely perfect for a group of five old friends getting back together. Highly recommended for a large group, or for a small group looking to spread out and be totally comfortable.
Carole was always very kind. The flat is absolutely beautiful and very well equipped. The photos do match what you get. Flyers and a Chicago map were at our disposal, which were very convenient indeed. The flat is near to a metro station, but in case you feel like walking, it is only about 20 minutes from downtown.
I would definitely recommend.

About the Host, Carole & Basil
Who would have thought when I boarded a plane for Greece more than 20 years ago, planning on backpacking through the mountains and then heading north through then Yugoslavia I'd end up making Greece my second home?
But here I am, 20 something years later, running a fabulous Greek vacation rental business with historic homes & penthouses in Athens and traditional Cycladic homes on the island of Tinos, planning Greek travel itineraries and leading small group tours around my adopted homeland and loving the life that I am lucky enough to be living. Of course I did pick up an equally crazy, workaholic Greek husband along the way, as well as a stray Greek animal or two!
Update: End of August 2013 .... This year Basil and I celebrate 10 years opening our Greek vacation rentals with guests from around the world. All these years we've been hopping between Basil's home city, Athens and Carole's home city of Chicago. Time and time again guests in Greece ask us if they can stay in our Chicago home while we're in Athens.... so we're finally doing it - we've just completed the renovation of a fab 2 bedroom 2 bath loft in our 10,000 sq foot Lincoln Park hybrid warehouse (which in a previous life housed a bar and a dance hall, followed by a costume and magic card factory and then a photography studio where probably every Butterball turkey advertisement in the 1980s was shot .... the photos, not the turkeys!)
So come stay with us ... and then stay with us again. Whether we share an ouzo in Athens or a beer and a hot dog in Chicago, we know that you won't be disappointed.
