Interaction with Guests
We are generally around. Emilie runs the adventure travel business from home but is often gone on trips or at meetings during the day. We are happy to hang out in the evenings or give you space to have the lower level of the house to yourself. When John is available, he is happy to provide basic bike maintenance if you are about to hit the road or trails.
It's a quiet neighborhood. Great access to everything about Bend and Central Oregon, but you will sleep well here as it is quiet like a rural area.
There is no public transportation in the area and you must have your own vehicle. There are several car rental companies available at Redmond Municipal Airport (RDM) which is only 10-15mins away. There is plenty of parking in the driveway as well as two dedicated spots in front of the house.
We are pretty mellow, friendly, and respectful to others and appreciate the same. We are also pretty flexible so just let us know what you need to feel comfortable and as at home as possible!
No pets as our cat is very old and can't handle the stress of other new animals.
No smoking inside.
Please use coasters on all furniture.
Not much else is super critical! :-)
Emilie and John were great hosts! Although we arrived in the late evening Emilie was up making sure that we had everything that we needed and knew where to find everything. We felt completely at home.
Friendly hosts, clean home and wonderful bed with private bath. Everything was exactly as described in the listing.
The neighborhood is quiet set amid beautiful country surroundings. It is an easy, short drive to and from Bend.
Emilie and John were great hosts! They both greeted us when we arrived. Emilie have us a few suggestions on what to see and do in the area. They were nice to have a few food items in the fridge for us to use and to make coffee in the morning. We had a nice comfy bed and a private bathroom. We would stay with them again if we are ever in the Bend area!
Emilie was (email hidden)d John too! Very welcoming and accommodating. They made me feel right at home!! They're in a great neighborhood just outside of Bend... very quiet and serene with walking trails at the end of the block.. It was a comfortable, clean room and nice to have the beautifully updated private bath adjoining the bedroom. I hope to be back and will certainly stay there again!!
Emilie's home was a perfect launching point for our trip around Smith Rock, Painted Hills, and John Day. She lives in a quiet community north of Bend with comfortable accommodations.
Emilie made my wife and me feel very welcome with hand-written notes, clean sheets and towels, and interesting conversation. Access to a clean, private bathroom was also very nice after long days of hiking and driving.
I'd definitely recommend this accommodation to other guests.
Emilie was a great hostess and was very friendly. She went out of her way and made us both breakfast which was a nice smell to awake too. She was kind and respectful to our space. Emilie's home was beautiful and the room very nice with a beautiful bathroom & everything you need. We would definitely recommend anyone to stay at her home. If we ever go back to Bend, OR Emilie will be getting a call from the both of us. The money saved was nice vs. staying at a hotel. Thank you from the both of us Mishanne & Craigger Hall.
It was our first time to Bend to celebrate my birthday and My wife & I had a great time.
Emilie and John were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable to this area. We stayed there very comfortably. We went skiing for 2 days and Painted Hills for another days. It is very convenient to access Mt Bachelor, John Days, Smith Rock, etc. It also has a quiet neighborhood as well.
All in all, it's the great vacation / birthday I've had! We will definitely come back in the future.
I love this place. I had never been to Bend before but it's my favorite place in the world now and this host was an awesome place to stay - very tranquil, nestled in nature, clean and the host was very helpful in directing me to the best outdoor activities. Emilie is a travel guide and owns an adventure travel company. She is also a mountain and rock climber and her partner is a bicyclist and a bike repair technician. I really couldn't have asked for more. It was super quite, close to Smith Rock and the mountains, and also a quick jaunt to downtown, where parking is a piece of cake. It's the most relaxing vacation I've ever had! I will definitely come back.
