This cozy studio in a great location so close to White Sands Beach and Kahaluu Beach Park. Why spend all that money on expensive Hotels.

The Space

In these challenging economic times, why spend so much on an oceanfront rental when you can enjoy all the advantages of the beach on a low budget?
This centrally located, clean, no frills studio in the heart of the White Sands Beach area off of Ali`i Drive lets you enjoy a stay near the beach, yet just far enough away to avoid the sight and sound of traffic.

The ground floor studio is equipped with a kitchenette with microwave, coffee maker, and refrigerator. Wireless internet access is included. A gas grill, washer, and dryer are available for our guests.

Enjoy White Sands Beach for world-class bodysurfing and boogie boarding. Explore Kahalu`u Beach, what some call the best snorkel beach in the Hawai`i. Catch the trolley into downtown Kailua-Kona, a mere 4 miles away. Shop at Keauhou, just a mile south of the studio.

The FREE wireless high speed cable modem can be used on your own laptop or of course you can turn off all electronics and just hang out and read a good book.

Why pay for ocean front or ocean view that you will not see since you will be so busy on your daily island adventures all day anyway? Why pay for a pool when you will be jumping in the ocean just down the street? Why pay for an ocean view when you cannot see it at night? The reality is you will most likely want a comfortable private place to relax to get ready for another day in Paradise.

A tax of 13.42% will be collected upon arrival.

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • Our space was simple but fine for our needs. Good parking, location, amenities and especially helpful was receiving all instructions ahead of time (which did not happen with another space). We had a small fridge, dishes, hot plate and pans, wifi, and everything was clean. We even had AC. Good for the price!

  • The place was as advertised. Bill was prompt and easy to deal with. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks Bill.

  • I made this last minute with Bill and he got back to be very quickly. He emailed me very detailed instructions along with a rental agreement, which is always a good idea for both the renter and the guest.

When I arrived I have pleased to find a clean and private room for me to spend one last night in before leaving to the airport the next morning. The room was simple, but had all the necessary amenities, and has lots of space. Once inside it feels a bit like a hotel room rather than a home.

The next morning I woke up and explored the neighborhood. The white sand beach if very close and is beautiful. The whole neighborhood is great. quiet safe, and beautiful. Like others have said, its about a 10 minute drive from the main touristy area, so thats either a good thing or bad depending on what your looking for.

  • House number wasn't visible, and we weren't sure which room was ours to check in as Bill wasn't there, so it was confusing at first but we figured it out quickly. The home was located at a quiet neighborhood yet near to a couple famous beaches which we went snorkeling to. The noodles provided were a great help to our snorkeling adventure. The room was quite spacious and we had no problems with our 2 huge luggages. It was nice to have a kitchen and a fridge. Shower cubicle was a little tight. The bed may be a little too soft for some, but fortunately we slept quite well. I love the TV the most - there were so many channels till I was torn between many of them!!

A few cons: floor was a little dusty, and there were ants around the sink. When we arrived, there was no parking space for us. We also did not get the wifi password as we needed it to figure out locations of certain places.

  • Location, location, location!!! Since my last visit to the Big Island in February, I had forgotten where exactly the best snorkel beach was; to my VERY pleasant surprise, it was mere blocks from Bill's place. I was SOOOOO stoked about that! The bed was one of the worst ever, but everything else was great; we especially appreciated the extra linens which were available in the closet. Having stayed previously in Captain Cook, the convenience of this location was well worth the price. I would definitely recommend Bill's place to anyone visiting Kona!

  • The studio was a great value for the price and in a good location. Checking in and out were very easy and convenient. Would stay again.

  • Great location and neighborhood - easy parking right in front - so quiet -we saw a family of mongoose walk across the backyard as we relaxed on the deck ( I know they are a problem in Hawaii but they sure were cute) Nice little kitchen - we only bought a pineapple and some other fruit and it was nice to have a place to cut it up and refrigerate it for a picnic tomorrow

  • Bill's apartment was great, just what we needed at a good price. The studio was clean, comfortable and small additions like the fridge were really useful. Located about 4 miles south of Kona centre, it was nicely out of the hussle and bussle for us, whilst in a safe and secure location.

  • Found the house quite easily following Bills instructions. Nice location just South of the main part of town. We stayed just one night in kona but would come back again.
