Apartment Arapovic is a 10- minute walk away from Dubrovnik's Old Town. It is located in Boninovo, the oldest part of the town beside The Old Town.
It is a newly furnished and decorated studio apartment with twin room, comprising a kitchenette with cooking supplies and a fridge.
He is a very welcoming person. His house had a problem from previous person who stayed at his house, but he was willingly find another place for my friend and I. Even though the owner of the house that we stayed at was not pavo, Pavo took care of us like we were staying at his house. Very nice and caring person!
Pavo and his family were friendly and helpful. The apartment is nicely situated, close to the sea and you can walk along the coast to the old town in about 10 mins. The area is quiet next to a cemetery. The room is a good size for two people, there are two twin beds. The decor and feeling is similar to a motel, there are pots and dishes for you to use, and a fridge, and enough blankets. Hot water works fine, in the shower the colors are flipped so blue means hot in the shower, but put the shower lever almost exactly in the middle so you don't burn yourself, the water is very hot. Air conditioner can provide warm or cold air but the warm air didn't always work, we are here in spring when it's cold at night. But there are really many blankets you can use. The towels are small as mentioned in another review, so bring your own. Pavo and his family live next door so you can ask for help if needed, so it's very handy for example, to borrow a corkscrew. His family is hanging laundry outside the apartment so the courtyard areas are shared so don't be surprised if you see a grandma or grandpa or a kid walking by your window. The outside view in the backyard looks onto houses on the hills. The supermarket is very close by and we found that extremely convenient. As a young couple, we had a really nice stay. I think it's great value for budget holiday makers because it's very close to oldtown, it's easy to walk home at night. There is a restaurant about 5-6 mins from the house called Magellan which has nice main course and chocolate soufflé. The location is pretty easy to find if you can find where the cemetery is from the coastline, just walk up towards the white cemetery statue and flower shops and turn left and walk down to the end and a short right and you are there.
The apartment is a beautiful walk along Dubrovnik's ravishing coastline to the old town. I stayed over the Easter weekend and had a cute welcome snack of eggs displayed in a bowl with miniature chicks, which was a very sweet gesture. The bathroom was a little cold because it wasn't quite spring temperatures yet but other than that, I enjoyed my stay. A good -value apartment.
The apartment is a good size and fully equipped. It's in a quiet location and just a 10 minute walk along the coast to the old city. Communication and amenities were great for the price.
I didn't meet Pavo during my stay--I was in Dubrovnik for two quick nights. The apartment is really close to the old city, which was great, and it only took me about ten minutes to walk there from "home." The twin bed was comfortable, and it was nice having a little kitchen to cook in. There's a small fridge, too, and the WiFi is fast.
There was something wrong with the balcony door which made it hard to open, some water on the floor (covered with a few small carpets), and a musty, damp smell throughout the space. I had to speed shower, since the water only stayed warm for the first two minutes of showering. I also had a really hard time with the key to the place--it took me a bit to lock and unlock the door. Something with the way you hold the handle while your turning the key...
That being said, if you head to Dubrovnik, you're probably not going to spend a ton of time inside at your accommodation. You'd also be hard pressed to find a private space for just $35/night.
The apartment was a little hard to find as you cannot see the house number from the street. It doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure out where it is in the end though. The communication was great (this could be because we speak their language :) The family is lovely. The apartment was super. The kitchen is stocked with pots, pans, cups, glasses, cuterly. A great bread knife and vegetable knife. It is only ten minutes walk from the old town and it is a lovely walk. The internet worked perfectly. The apartment was very clean. The bedding and towels were soft and very fragrant with laundry powder (This could be an issue if you are allergic). Thank you for our stay!!!
