Raven house, one of two houses on the property, is a romantic, historic homestead cabin built in the 50's. It is a special get-a-way.

There is an indoor fireplace, hot tub, fire pit, back patio and view of the outer rim of the park.

Close to town, near art galleries, shopping, restaurants and gas stations. It is a mix of southwest, modern and rustic. Everything has been designed for comfort and ease and the best use of space.

There is a laundry room available but will be shared with me.

The space
The Raven house is a renovated homestead cabin. It is simple, elegant and spacious. There is a mini split (air and heat) a fireplace, additional fans and small heaters and a washer dryer/laundry room outside the house but very close.

Appliances in the kitchen were bought for the house. There is a slow cooker, several kinds of coffee makers, toaster, blender and microwave. Spices, condiments, teas, and coffee are all available.

There is a fully equipped pantry with most items needed for cooking, including a good set of knives.

The light from the many windows fill the house during the day. You can shut the blinds or let the sun in. And the window in the kitchen has a view straight to the park.

This property is always being upgraded for comfort, beauty and sustainability. I have added a love seat convertible twin bed, the Steve Rieman sculpture and I am currently working on the grounds adding gardens and other amenities that will be posted as they are finished. A hot tub is on the back patio and a hammock near by.

The house is on 5 acres and feels very private but it is next door to my house and it is in a neighborhood. The road is close and there are cars. Sometimes you can hear neighbors and bands practicing. The whole area is getting busier as more Airbnbs are opening up all the time. This is changing the noise level, but neighbors are very quiet and careful not to disturb anyone.

Where you’ll be

Joshua Tree, California, United States

This is a newly desired part of Joshua Tree on the north side of Hwy 62. There is a view of the edge of the park from the south side of the house and open views in all directions except where the Magnolia house is located.. It's a quiet neighborhood sparsely developed. Noise does carry, so be considerate. Turn off outside lights when not needed. Your neighbors are very considerate and have 5 acres too, but this is a neighborhood and there is a road that runs in front of the house and a major road nearby. There is also a large Airbnb on Shadow Mountain, the far street along the property.

I'm going solar and that should be in place by the fall.
