Our Oro Valley home (North Tucson) has beautiful views. Private room and bath. Sleep Number Bed. Kitchen use for vegetarian prepared meals. Quiet neighborhood with walking/biking paths. Nearby lovely hiking in Catalina State Park. We are LGBT Allies.
Our home has beautiful views both front and back, yet we are not in a remote location. Our neighborhood has plenty of stores and services including a wonderful library minutes away. Trader Joe's is less than a 15 minute drive from my home.
As my kitchen is vegetarian based, I ask that you not bring into my home any non-vegetarian food that may be leftovers from dinner or in your car cooler. Thanks for you cooperation.
We love the mountains, open blue sky and twinkly stars at night. Within a 15 minute drive are quality grocery stores: Trader Joes, Sprouts, and Whole Foods. Tohono Chul, a gorgeous desert botanical garden with daily tours, art filled gift shops and art gallery exhibits of local artists is also just 15 minutes away. The Biosphere is about a 25 minute drive and Catalina State Park is just 10 minutes away. We are nearby to El Conquistador Resort if you are attending a business meeting or social event.
Other Things to Note

No smoking or pets. Treat my home with respect and all is cool. If using kitchen (vegetarian meals only), please clean up after yourself.
Denise and George did an exceptional job in welcoming and making me feel at home. The house rules are clear and printed out. The room and entire home was very clean and comfortable. The room and bath is located on the opposite side of the house from the host's bedroom so it is quiet and private. A lot of the time I didn't even know if they were around or even home. They both made suggestions to help me find my way around Tucson with activities and even invited me to accompany them on several outings. They have a wonderful patio for sitting and to take in its plantings, birds, and the beautiful Arizona weather. They seem to be quite experienced with this and use a lock-box on the door so you doing have to meet them at a certain time to get the key. I would highly recommend staying with them and will do so again.
Denise and George are the nicest people I have met in a long time. They are fun people, great hosts, and the room is beautiful, but it wasn't so spectacular that I wasn't comfortable sleeping there. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Incredibly graceous hosts! Their lovely, peaceful home offers privacy (room and bathroom are in one wing of house to yourself) and stunning views of the Catalina Foothills. I could grab a cup of coffee, walk outside their front door, cross the street and walk a beautiful park path to watch sunrise on the hills. Their back porch also has lovely views and is filled with birds of all sorts, even had an owl in the tree!
The neighborhood is safe and quiet and I could easily get around to downtown events, area restaurants and other hiking spots. Denise and George know the area well and were so generous in every way that it would be a shame to miss out on an experience with them! I hope to be back.
Denise was terrific, as was her house! Located in a very safe, quiet and beautiful neighborhood. Denise and George were out to dinner when I arrived, but directions and arrival process could not be better or easier. The place is extremely clean, and the views are great. They even have hummingbirds in their beautiful backyard. I did get to chat with both Denise and George for a little while and they may be the kindest folks I have met...I am from NYC though;) Great place, very comfortable, clean and wonderful hosts. If you're in Tucson, you'll be hard pressed to find a better place for the money.
We found everything we experienced to be just as noted in the listing. Denise and George were very friendly and informative. Her house was in immaculate condition and we would not hesitate to return. This was our "first" venture into AirBnB...Denise is a perfect "ambassador" for both AirBnB as well as Tucson. Thank you!
Comfortable and scenic. Hosts are great and also very accomodating. Not knowing the area I realize I lucked out. Too busy as you get closer to town.
I had a great stay at Denise's place! She was very helpful and communicative and made us feel very welcome. Her home was warm and lovely and we felt right at home. She gave us some great dinner recommendations and was very friendly.
Like many folks in Tucson, I am in love with the Sonoran desert, beautiful open sky, and sunny weather. A few years ago I recognized I needed to leave my long-term home in the Chicago area and move full-time to Tucson. This move was not without challenges but it was something I felt I must do.
All my life, I have strived to be personally fulfilled while playing a positive role in other people’s lives. I am an educator and social activist at heart and have been engaged in a variety of venues and social issues throughout my life. In my mid-50s, I earned a Ph.D. in Sociology. In Tucson, I volunteer with several community organizations, work part-time at Tohono Chul, a beautiful desert garden in Oro Valley, play an African drum, hike, bike, and participate in Global Chant. I am a LGBT ally.
All visitors are welcome to my home that bring a positive spirit and a caring heart toward all groups of people.
