The Space

Cute beachfront treehouse built on an old mango tree, 25+25 sq. meters. 100 mt. from the wilderness of Playa Grande, 3 Km. from Cahuita downtown and National Park.
Fully furnished kitchen, hammock, ceiling fan, bathroom with shower (hot water), private parking, Wi-Fi.
Laundry service and homemade breakfast with little extra-price on request.
Lot of opportunities for amazing tours in the wilderness of Costa Rica Caribbean Coast, in Talamanca's Sierra, canopy, surf, rafting, snorkelling in the Cahuita National Park coral reef, hiking, horseback tours. Tree of Life Rescue Center is 300 meters far (please ask us for the seasonal openings).
A good italian restaurant is only 200 meters far from the Treehouse, for a very good dinner with fresh fish, pizza, pasta and real italian food). More good restaurants are in Cahuita's center and around.
Please feel you free to ask us if you need to rent bikes or other.
Bus stop on the road is about 1 km far, everytime possible we can accompany you by car.
We can recommend our Beachfront Treehouse to everyone is looking for a romantic, peaceful, rustic but comfortable accomodation

  • We really enjoyed our stay at the tree house. Every Sunday we would bike to the markets and get our supplies for the week. Listening to the ocean every night was amazing. Michele and his mother Mirella were wonderful hosts.

  • A very cute treehouse for the adventuresome. It was clean and funky. The bed was comfortable and WiFi worked great. Bathroom was small however there was plenty of hot water. Lots of space to put your suitcases. The kitchen/living area below was a great bonus. The area was very quiet and the beach was close. Michele was a wonderful host. Highly recommend this treehouse for the Tarzan and Jane in everyone!

  • As others have noted, it is rustic yet if you love the outdoors you can appreciate its charm. It was our favorite Costa Rica airbnb. Michele and his mother were kind, helpful and charming. When we left some of our belongings there, they immediately contacted us and we were able to retrieve them. The beach just opposite their place was a gorgeous morning walk. They know and will share so much about the abundant wildlife. It was a treat.

  • Wonderful ! Really beautiful treehouse. Little bit outside of Cahuita (30min walk). Michele sent us a Taxi when we arrived at the Bus Station. For the rest of the days we rented a bike which was very useful to get to the village.
The Treehouse itself was amazing. Just across the street of playa grande in the middle of nature, just as the whole village of cahuita. It`s very lovely constructed and clean. The bathroom is small (of couse it`s in a treehouse ;)) but worked very well. Falling asleep with the sound of jungle and the sea is just awesome ! Thanks for the great stay Michele.
    Pura vida !

  • Michele was a great and welcoming host. We had a great stay at the mango treehouse! It's located close to Cahuita (less then a 5 minute drive away) and a minutes walk from a black sand beach. The property amenities were great, the kitchen was well stocked with everything you needed to cook.
The treehouse needed a bit of cleaning. There were a few dust issues. Despite this, we had a lovely stay.

  • Rustic, yes! Amazing, YES! This place is such a unique and amazing place to stay. Not only was it comfortable but it was also very beautiful. You can fall asleep to the sound of the ocean waves. When we were there it rained a little and the sound on the roof was really loud but just incredible. The floor in the kitchen needs a bit of work as there are some really loose spots. But overall, this is just what you would expect from a tree house. Michele is great with communication and Mirella was there for us the whole time. We had an issue with the shower and she fixed it the next day. Although kind of a pain that the water has to be really low to get hot but I think that is how showers work there? Also, there were nights an extra blanket would have been good to have. I loved our stay there!!! If you are afraid of ants, spiders or giant crickets (or grasshoppers, we weren't sure) it's probably not the place for you but if you want someplace unique, comfortable and where the hosts care about your well being and comfort, this is a great experience I would highly recommend to anyone. Very, very cool opportunity to stay in a tree house across from the beach. It's is a bit of a walk into town but we loved it and ended up having a dog that adopted us and always stopped at the reggae bar 1/2 way between town and Playa Grande. I would stay again for sure! Thank you Michelle and Mirella!

  • Michele's treehouse is perfect for the adventurous traveller looking for something a bit different. It's in a great location, right by the beach and the beach itself is beautiful and quiet.
The treehouse has everything you need for a comfortable stay, and we really enjoyed using the kitchen to cook our own meals with local ingredients.
It is a rustic place to stay but I think the photos and description reflect that accurately, and it all adds to the charm.
Michele and his mother were both very friendly and welcoming and were always close at hand if we needed anything.
We would definitely come back if we were in the area again!

  • The treehouse is great. It is a little rustic, but it perfectly matched the photos, and it is what you expect from a treehouse. The house was very secure for our belongings, and someone was always on-site to keep an eye on things. Michele was very friendly and even gave us a couple of delicious avocados as a parting gift. Directly across the road from the house is a great black sand beach, and a lovely white sand beach is less than a 10 minute drive away.
The floor in the open air kitchen has a few soft spots, but it is a regular maintenance issue, not a sign of disrepair. If you are looking for a unique place to stay near Cahuita, and understand that a treehouse is inherently a little rustic, you will have a great time here.
