This private modern apartment is located in the heart of downtown Reykjavik right by Hallgrims Church and the Sundholl. Around Hallgrims church are cafes, bookstores and fashion shopping. This home itself has a private entrance and garden and is fully furnished with contemporary decor.
The apartment has a full size bed and a 2 person sleeper couch in the living room, if you are traveling in a group. Other features include a full kitchen and bathroom, wireless internet, television, and fresh linens.
We're also very close to the BSI bus station, which means you can take the AirBus directly from the airport to the apartment and enjoy day-trips out of the city.
Reykjavík is believed to be the location of the first permanent settlement in Iceland, which Ingólfur Arnarson is said to have established around 870. Until the 18th century, there was no urban development in the city location. The city was founded in 1786 as an official trading town and grew steadily over the next decades, as it transformed into a regional and later national centre of commerce, population and governmental activities.
We keep the AirBnB calendar up to date, so if it's open on AirBnB, the apartment is available and you can feel free to book right away! I try to respond quickly as possible on all inquiries. Thanks!

My husband and I stayed at Runar's place in Reykjavik for three days. The location is very convenient (directly behind the famous church - Hallgrímskirkja). Everything is in walking distance. It is also down the street from one of the local public swimming pools if you want to warm up.
In March it was very cold in Iceland but Runar's place had plenty of heat and hot water. I assume this is pretty standard in Iceland but it was very much appreciated. The apartment is also clean and had all the amenities we needed.
Leading up to our visit, Runar was responsive to my questions.
Great Reykjavik location - this unit is walking distance from shopping, the BSI bus terminal, the harbor, market, museums, restaurants, etc. It couldn't have been more convenient and it was easy to find and has internet. Instructions were clear on location, checking in and out, using appliances, etc. The unit was well equipped, lacking only a microwave (which in our case we didn't need).
If you're looking for a cozy affordable spot in Reykjavik, this apartment is hard to beat. The location is simply fantastic, but just far enough from the main shopping streets so that it's also very quiet. I stayed here while I was in Reykjavik for a month, and it was nice having a full stove and all of the kitchen amenities. Runar and Petur were helpful and welcoming. I would definitely stay here again.
The location was very convenient. The bus terminal was very close by for tours and only 5 minutes to the city where there are things to eat and see. We'd recommend the noodle station!
The apartment was great. Everything we could need and very cosy especially after spending all day out in the cold. The tour books left behind were useful as well. Couldn't have asked for more really. Highly recommended over a hotel
The location is great and it is a decent apartment for two persons.
We absolutely loved our stay. The cute little apartment was exactly what we needed as a couple exploring Reykjavik! The apartment had everything we needed and the location is absolutely unbeatable!
Runar's place is super easy to find. Just find the highest church in Reykjavik and his place is right behind it. Great little apartment for 1-2 people. Modern furnishings and close to all of downtown Reykjavik. When going on tours just tell the companies to pick you up at Leifur Eriksson hotel which is directly in front of the church.
Don't worry about the hot water smell, it's an Iceland thing. The geothermal heating makes the water smell that way but its supposedly the purest water in the world.
Definitely recommend this place to anyone staying in Reykjavik !!
This apartment was the perfect place to base ourselves in Reykjavik. We are a young couple and it was great to haveenough space to spread ourselves out and cook meals.
The location is perfect. You are behind the big church so you can always find your way home and on the other side of the church is one of the main streets with plenty of cafes, restaurants and a convenience store.
A couple of suggestions for the area: it is cheaper to do any supermarket shopping at the Bonus on Laugavegur (10 minutes walk) - across the road there is a cafe called Gamla. The coffee was fantastic! We also went to a hostel on Hverfisgata called Kex that had a cool bar.
We got the FlyBus to the BSI central bus station (which is only a short walk up the hill to the apartment) but we went back to the airport with a smaller operator (via Blue Lagoon). Some of the top rated tour operators on Trip Advisor were cheaper than FlyBus and also picked us up from our door which was handy as it was snowing.
You will love Reykjavik, it is gorgeous, and you will love Runar's place. We would definitely stay there if we returned to Reykjavik.
Runar's apartment is a perfect place to stay when visiting Reykjavik! We were on a 7-day trip to Iceland and couldn't have asked for better accommodation. Location is superb, right behind the iconic Hallgrímskirkja, and is a short walk to the main streets of the city center. Also, super easy access to the BSI Bus Terminal for your trips in/out of the city. The apartment itself is clean, comfortable and big enough for 4 people. A full-size kitchen is a major bonus if you are planning on stocking up on groceries and cooking some meals at home. We'll be back soon!
We had a delightful stay at Runar's flat. It was convenient, clean, and perfect for a short stay in Reykjavik. Although I never met Runar face-to-face, he was polite, quick to respond and easy to work with.
