Nestled close to the community bike path, this townhome is walking distance to much of Somerville's charms. The versatility of this 3-level home--with its 3 bedrooms upstairs, an open living/eating/cooking space on the main level, and a finished basement + full bathroom + laundry on the lower--means that any group can fit nicely, whether it's a couple, a small family, an extended family (we've comfortably fit ours here many times!), or a group of young professionals.

The space
The townhome has 3 bedrooms upstairs and a full bath. The three bedrooms are moderately sized, with queen/full beds in each. If you have a small child/infant, there is a pack'n'play which can be used as a crib in the small bedroom closet as well as a rocker and a portable protection gate in the master closet.

The main floor has a family room with couch/love seat and 47" smart TV. The couch also pulls out into a queen bed to accommodate larger parties. Next to the family room is a large dining table with six seats (extra chairs available upon request). The kitchen is located at the back of the main floor and has modern/stainless steel appliances and is well-stocked with most cooking items (please feel free to request any specific items needed for your trip). The floor also has a space to hang your coats/shoes, a half-bathroom, and a Nest thermostat which controls the heating and A/C for the entire house.

The newly finished basement is another large space which can be used for entertaining, extra guests (has 2 double beds, a futon bed, and space for the air mattress), and the second full bathroom. The bathroom also contains a new washer/dryer system. Also, if you are on a work/school trip and in need of a desk and monitor, the basement also has a rather large working space.

Outside the house, there is a moderate-sized backyard (pergola and dining area to come soon) and a large tandem driveway suitable for 2-3 cars to park for free.

For long-term 30+ day stays, initial set of amenities provided, guests are responsible for replenishing for remainder of stay plus any desired cleanings. Taking out the trash on weekly service days will also be the responsibility of long-term guests.

Where you’ll be

Somerville, Massachusetts, United States

Our townhouse is located on a friendly street with great neighbors steps from Magoun Square in Somerville. Somerville is a thriving, young, diverse, artsy, and ultra biking- and walking-friendly northern outpost of Boston (think of it as Cambridge's younger, hipper cousin). You can get downtown pretty easily by taking a bus to one of many MBTA stations such as Davis Square, Porter Square (both Red Line), Lechmere (Green Line), Assembly Square, or Sullivan (both Orange Line). This location is also perfect for families visiting students of the many close-by universities (Tufts, Lesley, Harvard, MIT), and close to the biotech companies in Kendall Square. Magoun Square is one of Somerville's many squares that boasts a diversity of unique shops and restaurants.

Walk less than 5 minutes to Old Magoun's Saloon (great beer selection), Daddy Jones (fun outdoor patio), Pennypacker's (amazing porchetta sandwiches), Modelo Cafe (Brazilian bakery, acai bowls, yummy cappuccinos), Tasty MoMos (Nepalese dumplings), as well as Mexican, Salvadoran, Chinese, Italian/pizza options, as well as a CVS and a 24-hour Dunkin Donuts. Also, a couple blocks away are brand new shops including Somerville Bread Company, Tipping Cow Ice Cream, and Winter Hill Brewery (cool cafe by day, tasty beers and food by night).

We've loved using Airbnb over the past few years to explore places we travel. Meeting new people, seeing places through the eyes of locals, and participating in the less touristy side of places really appeal to our way of traveling. Hailing from Boston and Chicago, our favorite things to do include hiking, searching for waterfalls, exploring city neighborhoods, brewing beer, and of course, traveling.

We're thrilled to now give back to the Airbnb community by opening up our home to those who want to discover Somerville, MA (and Cambridge, Boston). It is a vibrant, young, eclectic community, consistently voted as one of the top neighborhoods in the country. We hope our guests get to experience the local flavors that Somerville has to offer all while having the comforts of [our] home to rest and relax.

Thanks for stopping by!
