Best spot in the house is the master bedroom with big closets and private bathroom w/ shower. Great western-facing view towards Marin and nice sunsets. Northern ridge of Wildcat Canyon, across the street from the off-leash trailhead to 8,000 acres.
Big private master bedroom with western view to Marin has 2 big closets and your own bathroom w/ shower. House is on top of the ridge, with a view of the hills, house is adjacent to 8,000 acres of open space, East Bay hills, Wildcat Canyon. A short walk gets you up to the most amazing views of the Bay Area, and you could hike for miles if you want.
Only 1 mile off of Hwy 80, less than 10 minutes by car to nearest Bart. Downtown SF 20 minutes driving w/out traffic, 10 to West Berkeley. Also pretty easy to get to Marin or Wine Country. This is not great if you are on foot, we're at the top of a big hill. BART train station is about 7 minutes away in a car, and usually about a $15 cab ride home from the station.
Big private bedroom with 2 big closets and your own bathroom w/ shower. 3 windows, quiet, fresh air. Room has a standard size double futon with basic bedding. There's another 1/2 bathroom downstairs.
We listen to a lot of vinyl records and like almost everything - soul, funk, jazz, reggae and dance music. I have a full DJ set-up in the living room... I am a long time Bay Area resident, know the ins-and-outs... Single dad, 6-yr old daughter here about half the time. Very mellow vibes, no TV. We have WIFI, laundry, etc. Oh, and a dog would be totally welcome if it's good with kids. This is dog heaven! (but we don't have one yet) We do have a cat, who is small and cute.
Our neighborhood is quiet and safe. Even though we are not far from the flats of Richmond and San Pablo, (which are more urban and lower income) this area at the top of the hill is very mellow, no crime on our street in the 5 years that I've been here. Parking is always easy.
Chances are that we might share coffee in the mornings and share Bay Area tips and travel stories. I'm also fine with you taking over the kitchen to make a feast on occasion, or just keeping some basic goodies on hand. Great farmers markets in the area.
I look forward to hearing from you!
Good luck and happy travels,

Interaction with Guests
I'm here a lot, my girl half the time, and my other room mate off and on. As long as I'm getting my work done I like to socialize a bit, although keeping it minimal is fine too. We're all very easy going.
Amazing hiking across the street! It's almost always cool in our microclimate, hardly ever gets very hot, generally foggy at night, with our own little rain forest on the yard from the fog in our pine trees.
Visit my Strayboots map to get a handle on the area:
Best with a car, less than 10 minute drive to BART. You could walk a mile down the hill and catch a bus. (and a steep mile up the hill when you come back home later)
Other Things to Note
Rather see healthy food and not a bunch of sugary processed junk in the kitchen. Not that I care personally, but things like frosted donut holes are definitely not on my daughters staple diet, so it keeps the controversy down.
Be cool! Respectful, mindful, easygoing, and NO TOBACCO!!! Otherwise we're civilized, don't drink personally but not anti if it's within reason, and 420 is ok with discretion
Mark is a super cool guy who really knows the Bay and its ins and outs. His apartment is in a RIDICULOUSLY nice location next to a very large park with plenty of trails and amazing sunset views.[saw almost every sunset while I stayed here :) His place had a really laid-back vibe and we enjoyed conversing with everyone there. The room/bathroom we rented was very spacious and his living room/kitchen have plenty of room for cooking, exercising, playing, or working. Do not miss out on an amazing experience staying here!
Mark is a host with a lovely home we felt right at home from day one. Our room had a great view of San Francisco and the bay. Marks home is where country meets the city. we saw a fox tonight right in front of the house.

Hello, I am an artist, DJ, and entrepreneur, not necessarily in that order. Dad to 6 yr old girl on weekends, self-employed during the week. Life at home is a blur of crafts and a wide variety of music from the many records we gather. ( I am a serious student of the history of disco) Been living for 20 yrs in the Bay Area, know a lot of inside info by now...
