The space

Just five minutes from Ubud center with scooter, looking over the rice fields we have a great little place that is simple and sweet! The room is private and quietly located facing the rice fields. It has a great bed and a great private bathroom. You have your own little kitchenette with all the necessities to make yourself breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is a little restaurant at the front that offers great local food. We have a great pool and parking for your scooter. Wifi is included and speedy and laundry can be picked up and dropped off!
We can assist you with anything here in Ubud, whether you need a scooter, a driver, or just some great places to hang out, do yoga and get "zen" etc. For those of you that know Ubud, we are just up from the Ark. A great place to just get away from the hustle and bustle and to relax with Ubud just down the road. A magical place!

We had a quite nice stay there but be aware that you can not walk to the city of Ubud from there, it will take about 1 1/2 hours. On the other side it was relaxed to stay there in the middle of some rice terraces. Shower was only cold watered and some animal wildlife is around but that's normal for the region. Overall a good stay close to Ubud.

Villa Kisi Kisi is a fabulous place to stay and a great value. The room is spacious, romantic and includes a large bathroom with walled, outdoor shower. Each room has a beautiful porch and garden. The shared pool is small, but beautifully located, overlooking the rice paddies. The complimentary breakfast is home-cooked and delicious. I recommend visiting in the winter--the air-conditioning is weak. You will also need to have a car or rent a motor scooter. The location is gorgeous, but a 15-20 minute into Ubud. I loved this because Ubud is over-crowded with tourists. Villa Kis Kisi has wonderful staff. they will make sure that you have a great stay. (And wi-fi works well here if you need, as I did, to do some on-line work.)

My stay at Kishi kishi house would serve as one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. The ease, peace, serenity and simplicity of the place was rejuvenating. Nyoman was very sweet and caring, he was ever ready to accommodate last minute requests

We stayed at Kishi Kishi for a month while I did my yoga teacher training and it was everything we were hoping for and more. It's located a bit out of Ubud town which was perfect for us. Great scenery with rice fields everywhere and very relaxing and you were surrounded by mostly local Balinese going about their every day lives. The pool was great, especially in the afternoon when it got super hot (no fan in the room). Our unit was cleaned every day and new jugs of water were brought whenever we ran out. Nyoman was very helpful and was quick to respond whenever we had a question. It made our experience in Ubud that much better and we would definitely come back to stay!

My girlfriend and I had such a great time here in Ubud thanks to Nyoman. We originally planned to stay for just 2 nights, but there was so much to do here and the room was awesome with an outdoor bathroom (we love that kind of stuff), so we decided to extend our stay for another day. The best part was the view of the rice fields. It was beautiful! Getting around in Ubud was fairly easy because you can rent a motorbike from Nyoman, which we did to get to Monkey Forest which wasn't too far away. Nyoman was nice enough to set up a whole day of activities for us with his driver, which included the sunrise trek, holy water temple, and rice terrace fields. After a long day of sight seeing, the pool was a perfect way to relax and unwind. On our last day Nyoman was nice enough to drive us around town and check out all the arts and crafts that the Balinese people have to offer. He also took us to an authentic suckling pig restaurant for lunch and it was delicious and the epitome of authentic. We ended the day learning how to cook some traditional Balinese dishes for dinner with Nyoman's sweet wife. It was so good and we now have some yummy recipes to bring back home with us. Nyoman even helped us book a fast boat from here to the Gili Islands, which made our transfer to the next place easy. Overall, our stay here was great. We had plenty of privacy, but if we needed anything we would just message Nyoman and he'd come over to help right away. If we're ever in Ubud again, we would definitely stay here again!

Kishi Awan is the top floor apartment at the Kishi Kishi House. It is exactly as it states: sweet & simple. Emphasis on the simple. It is an open air space so be prepared to interact with nature. Mosquitos become numerous around dusk, especially during rain. I used Tiger Balm's Natural Mosquito repellent and it worked well. I saw some small geckos but none that were bothersome as they run away the minute they see you. At the top of the stairs is the balcony/kitchen which includes a sink, dishes, cutlery, one gas burner, clean drinking water, and a small refrigerator. There is a table with 2 chairs to sit and watch the beautiful sunset over the rice fields behind the house. Through the balcony is the bedroom. The sliding door separating the space locks only from the outside. I placed any belongings that I felt needed locking in the closet, which has a set of keys to it. I didn't bother locking the room and never had a problem. There is a large bed with a mosquito net around it. There are some holes in the net, so maybe bring a safety pin or two. The bathroom is just off the bedroom. It is open-air as well. The shower was consistently hot, which was great when showering in the cooler mornings under the sunrise. The neighborhood is quiet in comparison to the center of Ubud. Since this is an open space I did hear some of the bustle from surrounding houses (families laughing and children playing). At night all becomes quiet except for the frogs, cicadas, and occasional dog barking in the distance. Thankfully I was not woken by any roosters. Nyoman was a great host! Easy to get in touch with via text, and he always responded quickly. He made sure I had a ride to and from wherever I needed to go for a very affordable price. I also borrowed a bicycle from him. Fun going into town but a bit challenging on the way back since it is all uphill. He offered to pick me up in town with the bicycle too. He has motorbikes for easy rental. 50 minute walk to Ubud center. 30 minute bicycle ride. 15 minute drive. His staff and family were all very kind. They were having a gathering one evening in the "office" area. I was walking by, off to dinner, and Nyoman invited me to eat with them. I did: Lawar was good & spicy! Everyone ate with their hands as is normal but I was kindly offered a fork and spoon. I must stress that this is truly simple lodging. No frills. But if you need anything, Nyoman will try to help. Thank you Nyoman for the wonderful hospitality!
