Interaction with Guests
Though we are busy ourselves with dental school and work, we very much enjoy getting to know our guests. Our dog, Bentley, loves to interact with guests, but we will give as much space as our guests desire.
Some people overlook the fact that we do still live here during your stay, though our bedroom is on the other side of the house. Although, if you're suddenly surprised to learn upon your arrival that we do live here, you probably haven't read this far down on our listing!
Our neighborhood, although quiet and quaint, is always teeming with folks walking their dogs, families biking the streets, or friends catching up on their front lawn. We are situated two blocks from the popular Greenline trail where you can burn off the calories from all that Memphis fare! We are also a half mile from a neighborhood grocer, pizza place, sandwich shop, and local pub. A short 10 minute drive will get you to the popular midtown area that is full of bars, hip restaurants, and unique shopping. If the nightlife and fabulous restaurants of downtown is more your scene, we are only 15 minutes away from there as well. Have the best of both worlds with a safe, quiet neighborhood that's 15 minutes from everything (including the airport).
If you don't have a car yourself, taxis* are the easiest way to get around. If you make it downtown there is a trolley line that runs through the heart of the downtown area.
Sam Cooper Blvd. is very close allowing for quick access to the Memphis area. Otherwise, let us know and we can try to help you out with a ride as our schedule permits.
*If you don't have a car, we recommend Uber or Lyft (you know, staying with the sharing economy theme...)
Other Things to Note
Since Jeff is a full time student and Julie works from 8-5 please be patient as we try to work with your schedule upon check-in.
Most people seem to care for our place regardless, but to those who make things a bit more difficult, keep reading!...
Please clean up after yourself when cooking in our kitchen, leave your luggage on the floor or luggage rack (not on the beds), and keep the smoking outside. Overall, we just ask that you care for our place like you would your own.
Although Bentley (our pup) does well with other dogs, it's easier on everybody if we don't allow pets (sorry four-legged friends).
The home was exactly like the listing! The rooms and furnishing of the house were very pleasant and felt like all the parts of a hotel you'd want in a short stay but in a house.
We were also provided with materials to help orientate us to Memphis, granola bars to snack on, tea/coffee we could help ourselves to.
Perhaps my only gripe is that we only got 2 bedrooms to use though there were 3 of us. Although the listing does say that an additional $20 is charged for use of the extra room, I thought it was already added in when a surcharge was added for the third person.
Nonetheless, it was a truly enjoyable stay that was value for money!
Don't miss this lovely home in a cozy neighborhood only minutes from downtown Memphis. Comfy bedroom and full bath tucked in a private corner of the house. And, of course, Jeff and Julie are warm, friendly and inviting hosts, we only wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy their space and company.
The rooms felt private even though they are located right off of the kitchen. Everything was clean and nicely decorated.
Julie & Jeff are wonderful airbnb hosts and just really nice people. The room and facilities were of really high standard. Very comfy and clean. And they give their guests a long list of things to do, eat and see in Memphis. When they had friends over for dinner, they asked us to join them.
Jeff and Julie greeted us upon arrival and made us feel very welcome. Their home is extremely homey and comfortable. The bedrooms were very nice, clean and roomy. This was our first time using airbnb and we were a bit nervous about sharing the home with the owners but it was a great experience all around. Getting through the verification process on airbnb was the only part which did not go as smoothly I would have hoped. I have read reviews and people warning of problems while reading through many reviews of airbnb but I think with anything it is up to the customer to do their due diligence in making sure they know what they are getting themselves into. I We highly recommend Jeff and Julie to anyone planning a trip to Memphis. Julie - Curtis wants to know if you have found a vocal teacher yet. :) We will come down to see you in your first performance onstage.
Thank you for being so wonderful during our stay with you.
Brian, Terry, Curtis and Kim
Jeff and Julie live in a very nice neighborhood of Memphis. They welcomed us warmly into their home.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Memphis! Julie and Jeff's home was a perfect place for us. Unfortunately we were only there one night. We would love to come back and stay again. Thanks Julie and Jeff for opening your home to Airbnb :)

About the Host, Julie & Jeff
Hello! We are Jeff, Julie, and Bentley (woof).
We are 27 year olds who love Memphis! Julie, born and raised in Memphis, works full time for a family business where she is lucky enough to bring her pup, Bentley, to work every day. Jeff, a native Nashvillian, is a full time student in dental school at the UT Health Science Center. Between the two of them, they can recommend the best restaurants, museums, parks, coffee shops, BBQ joints, attractions, YOU NAME IT, that Memphis has to offer.
They are travel junkies! During college, Julie spend a semester in Granada, Spain and got to see all the amazing things Spain and other parts of Europe have to offer. She loved it so much, she and Jeff went back to Europe for a month over Christmas in 2013! They are also outdoorsy people who always prefer to be outside. Jeff spent 4 months hiking the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine after undergraduate school. Overall, he has visited 41 states. Julie needs to catch up!
Some of their other interests include: DIY projects around the house, frequenting the dog park (Bentley's favorite), brunch, maps, antique furniture, the Memphis Grizzlies, music, documentaries, but mostly we enjoy being together, being active, and eating good food to make up for it!
Our favorite part about hosting is getting to know new people. We have been a part of the Airbnb community for over a year now and have enjoyed every minute of it! We love our home and think you will too! Hope we get the opportunity to host you.
