The house was clean and in town next to all of the shops and restaurants while also being only 2 blocks from the beach. It's very small but was suitable for our needs. You may want to know though if are staying for a few weeks that there is only an outdoor bbq pit to cook on, there is no stove. Also note that you have to pay for energy separately. And the dogs next door were the worst part. The owners keep them chained up 24/7 and they bark ask the time right on the other side of the wall of the house. The owner was accommodating and easy to reach but was a little picky in my opinion about extra charges. For example a glass broke while washing it and the toilet handle broke when somebody flushed the toilet and he charged us for these items. I understand having to put time into fixing things but this is a little petty to me. The toilet is outside so the plastic handle was eventually going to break due to weathering. Anyways, we had a great time in San Juan and its Def a place worth visiting.
Glad to hear that you and your group (4-6) enjoyed your time in SJDS. Being in the center of town offers ease of proximity to all, but it's also a densely populated pueblo in a developing country. With that comes some noise at times. The neighbor's female dog recently had pups, so they have been temporarily tieing the male dog to keep him at a distance. Sorry if this was an inconvenience. Surprises here are never ending: just saw a guy walking two goats down the street yesterday!
BBQ - Is a free-standing Char-Broil propane fueled bbq with a side-burner for stove-top cooking. Push-button ignition. Idea is to have the bulk of cooking heat easily disburse outside on the covered patio rather than captured inside of the house. Besides the BBQ, there is also a microwave and toaster oven as well.
Electricity is much more expensive in Nica than more developed countries. With two air conditioning units I need to offer incentive for reasonable use. This charge is fully disclosed in the ad along with the stated average of $1-3/night. Your average nightly cost was $2.20; quite decent for having 4-6 occupants during your stay.
The house is fully furnished and equipped. It is the responibility of the renter for any damage or missing items. Sorry for the $7 charge for the missing glass and broken toilet handle in the covered garden bathroom (other bathroom is indoors). Both items will truthfully cost more than that to replace; shared responsibility on both sides is very reasonable.

Location in town was perfect...just a few blocks away from the strip of bars and restaurants, which made the whole trip convenient. Tim was easy to work with and we had no ploblems the whole weekend. The only annoying part was the neighbor -- noisy wife and noisy dog. But I think that's more typical than atypical in Nicaragua!
Mitch glad you guys had a great time! Apologize about the neighbor issue. They've been working on adding-on to their house this month so it's been less than ideal for them living inside a construction zone. I'm sure all will return back to "Nica-normal" soon. Thanks again for your stay!
Tim's house in San Juan was perfect. Great location. Great host. The house was comfortable and clean. Loved it!!
What an awesome location! No need for a car. Very private and secure. When we weren't out and about enjoying SJDS, we spent our time outside on the back porch and absolutely LOVED the outdoor bathroom. Tim was an amazing host. He was always available via email to answer questions. Otherwise, he left us alone to enjoy his home. Thank you for a wonderful vacation. We would definitely stay here again.
Tim was an amazing host. Super cool guy who knows a ton of people and cool spots to go. We could have stayed there a month or two if we had the time. House is in a perfect location. Close to town, but still in a private, quiet location. Would be perfect for a traveling couple as well. I would definitely recommend staying here.
We enjoyed this cute little house so much! It had everything we needed and was very clean! Bed was comfortable and the air conditioning came in handy on warm nights! Tim was a gracious host and very helpful if ever we had an issue with something or just needed helpful hints on how to find a great beach to go to. We would highly recommend this house if ever you are looking for a great place to stay while in San Juan Del Sur that makes you feel at home!
