The Space

Please read these descriptions closely to avoid asking me questions I answer below. Thanks :)

Comfortably fits two in shared queensize bed. Extra bedding available.

There are also two walk in closets - not pictured - and a bathroom with full tub. It's all beautiful.

In the larger walk-in closet is a loft bed with ladder. Good for smaller people, a third, or one who prefers a bed to the floor. Extra fee applies.

Guest Access

Whole apartment would be yours.

Interaction with Guests

I'm not usually in town when you are here. If I am, we can be friendly - otherwise, my housekeeper will take care of you.

The Neighborhood

The neighborhood is simply great. Across the park to the painted ladies, up the hill to Buena Vista or just down to Nopa for a nightcap, Tsunami for sushi, FlyBar for a game of pool ; seafood, mescal bar, pizza, taco joints… it's all here!

Getting around

Rover is a great app to help you get around.
Buses on Hayes Street and Divisadero. I recommend Lyft, Uber or FlyWheel for cabs. All apps available on your smartphone - I'm happy to send referral links!

Other Things to Note

I built the kitchen table, the coffee table, the kitchen counter and the shelves by hand. Please be mindful with cups and glasses; I have left coasters for your water-ring-free enjoyment. Thanks for using them!

Also, it's super sunny and my plants get thirsty. If you think of it, filtered water goes in the yellow watering can. I'd be very grateful if you give them a drink. The mint on the kitchen windowsill makes great mojitos and lovely water. Do help yourself, just pinch the leaves off and thank the plant with some water…
The Jade won't need water for a long time... but if the soil is dry, feel free to give her a little.
You'll also see birdseed. Feel free to offer some and you'll definitely see results :)

  • We absolutely loved staying at Jonah's place! Check in went completely smoothly even though Jonah was out of town. The apartment was clean and the kitchen had everything we would ever need. The view overlooking Alamo Square was outstanding and there were tons of great bars, restaurants and groceries within walking distance. It was also super easy to catch the MUNI. Parking near Alamo Square Park was challenging but not impossible. If you are looking to live like a local in SF, this is the place to do it! We hope to stay here again on our next trip to the bay area.

  • I felt like I was at my home, even where I grew up. Sure it wasn't MY beautiful view or MY beautiful Gabii Woven rugs.. but it felt like mine. It felt like I was at home. That my friends is a place I'd visit and stay happily over and over again. This isn't a hotel room, or a bare bones empty apt. There is love and life here. Thankful I could make this place my home for only a few days.

  • The apartment is lovely, in a great, beautiful and safe location (you can see Alamo Square from the windows!); close to grocery shops, restaurants, and very easy access to buses (4 different bus lines are within 2 or 3 blocks, less than a 5 minute walk).
We didn't meet Jonah, but he kept in touch with us via mail and was very accommodating and an excellent host. Great apartment, great experience!

  • Jonah was extremely flexible and was able to accommodate our last minute request. He took the time to coordinate logistics with us and communicated very well. His apartment was great and had such an incredible view - the perfect location for us! My parents who stayed there loved the sun in the morning, walking down to the great coffee shops/restaurants for breakfast and lunch and the proximity to the park. My husband and I loved that we are only two blocks away - we will definitely try to get the apartment the next time my parents come visit!

  • If you want to have a real San Francisco experience, forget about touristic location. Enjoy waking up in the morning to a fantastic view of Alamo Square. Walk a few blocks to Bi-Rite and get your incredible groceries. Stay just a few blocks away from bus lines which take you anywhere in no time, and walk back from a long day of discovering the city, leave your stuff, and out again for a great dinner at Nopa, a few blocks away from the apartment. I would definitely choose Jonah's apartment again and again for a stay in the city. Jonah is a very attentive person, very careful and clean with his apartment! We hope to be back soon!!
