My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon. I loved the privacy as Anahola is a less traveled to town. The beach right across the street is also pretty quiet which is nice. The only cons are if you want to do anything you have to drive to Kapa'a which is about 15 min away, and the unit has no air conditioning. I guess we were just lucky, but we stayed during the most humid week of the year. Geri was super sweet and got us an extra fan which really helped. Overall it was a great experience and I would recommend it.
Thanks for your comments Ali, and yes July is a "the" humid month....guess that's the tropics though! We thought about air conditioning but most guests go out all day and most nights to see and experience Kauai. Kapaa is a cute town, full of gorgeous shops and restaurants; and we love that its only 15 minutes away, giving our beach such peace and seclusion. We hope that one day you return. Safe travels!
We had a wonderful week at Di and John's place!! Geri was so friendly and helpful- bringing us lots of fresh fruit from the garden and some authentic Hawaiian food as well. The location was perfect for us to explore Kauai to the north and south. We grilled on the lanai a few nights and it was just a great place to relax. Thank you for a lovely honeymoon spot!
We had a wonderful stay at the Studio. It was exactly as the description, the loft was lovely, clean and well equipped. Having a nice sandy beach across the street was amazing, really. That beach was 1-2 km long, so it was also perfect for nice walks. There is a small river nearby where the water is shallow and warm, sandy, and no big waves if you want to just relax in the water. We renamed it "the spa" since the water was so warm. The ocean just beside has much bigger waves.
We met with Geri, the nice caretaker (the owners were on vacation). Geri was friendly, quiet and she answered all our questions. She also allowed us a late checkout since there were no guests in the same day, we really appreciated that since our flight was late. We strongly recommend this place.
Our stay in Anahola was great. We enjoyed the close and easy access to the beach, gentle breezes and spectacular views of the Sleeping Giant mountain nearby. The fresh fruit, orange juice, milk and Anahola granola (local product from Hanapape) made our mornings listening to the birds and surf all the mo better. We had a great time.
We had a wonderful time staying at Diane's apartment right across the street from the beach. The fresh fruit straight from the garden was a perfect warm welcome to the island, and along with the other breakfast fixings was so convenient having just arrived. The apartment was a great home base for us to explore the island or just the beach right across the way. Geri the housekeeper was wonderful and very accommodating, even letting us pick limes from the backyard.
Where do we start??
First off- the experience of staying here is so incredibly wonderful: the pictures don't do it justice... You will have so see how amazing this place is for yourselves!!
Di, Geri, and Jon are extremely sweet and helpful. They are great hosts. Period.
The apartment was immaculate and comfy- our favorite thing about the decor was Diane's beautiful original art on the walls.
We came here straight from our honeymoon, so we were ready for some serious chillin'.
We got exactly what we came for.
The beach truly is right at your front doorstep. They provide boogie boards, snorkel equipment, and even a cooler for beach drinks and snacks!!
Geri was the bomb! She is a native wih a cool chill friendly vibe, and we felt like she was our good friend by the time we left :)
Stay here. You won't be disappointed. Mahalo!! :)
This was our first airbnb experience and we loved it. The apartment is very nice and clean, we had fresh fruits and coffee and a full breakfast waiting for us when we came and they gave us a lot of tips what to do on the island. The beach is next door and hardly anybody is there - it´s super private! We loved the full experience on this beautiful island and I would always recommend everybody who plans to visit Hawaii to come to Kauai and Di!
Thank you for making our vacation unforgettable.

About the Host, Diane
Aloha! I am a professional Sculptor and Painter, and an Interior Designer
My nickname is Di........pronounced Di ....... as in Princess Di :-)
My husband, John, is a contract house builder and designer.
We are Australians (well, I am actually a New Zealander, but spent most of my life in Australia). We spend our time living between Australia and Hawaii. Our dream was to own a beach house in Hawaii; and Kauai captured us! We bought our house five years ago and have completely remodeled it. We love paddling in our kayak up the Anahola River opposite our house and also love swimming, snorkeling, walking and beach-combing. We love good restaurants, fine wine, art galleries and to travel.
We have previously owned four restaurants and also built and run a 6 bedroom self-catered Lodge in country South East Queensland, Australia. When we are not residing in Hawaii our live-in Caretaker, Geri, will gladly assist you with whatever you need. You can see my sculpture and paintings online, just look for Di West.
..............................................We know you will love Kauai as much as we do! :-)
