The space
Casa Pepa by the Reef is a charming beach house located in Islote, a quaint beach town in Arecibo on the North shore of Puerto Rico. This house, built in the late 60s, has a comfortable front balcony facing the beach with stunning views of the Cueva del Indio Natural Reserve.

As our guests, you will enjoy the relaxing sound of the waves, feel the ocean breeze, and become mesmerized by the colorful sunsets seen in and around the property. Casa Pepa is nestled in a half acre of land surrounded by “almendros” and palm trees which are home to many native species of birds and iguanas. Our yard is also a natural habitat for hermit crabs. You can find them between the tree trunks and plants. Please do take care of them, but be careful with your fingers as they can pinch. We encourage you to feed them bread, fruit peels and “used coffee grounds”, which they love. It will be an unforgettable experience with nature!

As part of its history, this house offers the experience of using an authentic “fogón”, built around the 60's and located in the backyard. The "fogón" is a cement BBQ of sorts typically using firewood, which gives a unique smoked flavor to the food that is delightful (coal can be used as well).

The property has two bedrooms with air conditioning (two full sized beds & one futon), one bathroom, remodeled kitchen which features: a fridge, stovetop, sink, microwave, toaster oven, cups, plates, cutlery, coffee maker, counter-top area with stools, etc. This home also provides a private fenced-in yard, parking on premises, furnished dining room and living room area, small laundry room with washer and dryer, water heater, 42” HDTV, Local Channels, and Wi-Fi.
