Bohemian paradise on Hong Kong's Coolest street, two blocks from our city's most historic temple, Man Mo.
The Sheung Wan junction of Square Street & Tai Ping Shan is the emerging hip epicentre of Hong Kong. Quiet, leafy and packed with quirky artisanal fashion boutiques and art galleries. It's mere minutes from the best food, drinks and music spots HK has to offer.
My apartment is unusually large for the area, with a spacious open-plan layout and a lovely leafy outlook. The interior is warm, eclectic and comfortable. Located on the first floor, its filled with light and super easy to access.
There are two separate bedrooms; the master is one double bed and the second is my wardrobe/ guest room with a very comfortable single bed.The living room sofa is the third bed available.
Kitchen and bathroom are simple and practical. The bathroom is traditional 'chinese style' meaning hand held shower.
The house is pretty tech free - No Television or Wifi. Hong Kong is such a crazy stimulating social city, I have kept the home front lo-fi. However plenty of international books and magazines to choose from. And 4+ cafes within a 3 minute walking radius that offer all day free wifi, couches and coffee.
Cleaner can be arranged to come throughout visit.
2 x sets of keys
Cooktop (Gas and Induction)
**The worlds best laundry guy is downstairs from my apartment; drop off in the morning, collect in the afternoon, pay about $4USD for 5KG's.
I will be overseas myself so interaction will be at a minimum . However can leave extensive city guide and lots of hot tips .
Ask any HK resident and they will tell you upper Sheung Wan is the place to be. Its very chilled and hip, with so many interesting places to explore. My home is 5 - 15 minutes walk from, bar and restaurant heaven, supermarkets, the nightclub strip (Lang Kwai Fong), HK's best malls, the historic harbour areas, antique street and the CBD.
Its 6 blocks down hill to the MTR (Subway), HK's state of the art incredibly fast public transport network. And one block from Hollywood road where you can grab a taxi at any hour of the day. A typical 10 minute ride is very affordable; 2 Euro / $2.50USD / $20 HK.
Emilie's place was quaint and comfortable. It was artfully designed down to the tiniest detail. It had everything you need -- from plates to hair dryer. Emilie was very kind to leave drinking water for us and even offered whatever was in her fridge. The location/neighborhood was perfect -- within walking distance to Central and MTR. The only drawback was that there's a lot of uphill walks to the apartment so it may not be suitable for old people. Otherwise, everything was perfect. It's definitely better than some hotels I've stayed in.
The place is awesome, it is located next to everything. Instructions are very good on how to get to it. The place itself is small, but by the HK standards it is really huge. It is nice and clean and has everything that you need. Internet is available in the coffee shops in the area. Emilie is really nice and has been very helpful to us.
I really have to thank Emilie for the amazing hospitality, me and my parents had a great time in Hong Kong staying at her apartment. Since the beginning she assisted us in us with directions, and even left us water on the fridge ;) The apartment is cozy and beautiful, the area is fantastic and very well connected. 5 stars for emilie ;) thank you!
It was fun and exciting trip to HK. Emilie was very helpful with some insight on getting to her place. Her place was amazing. The four of us agreed that it was comfortable and cosy. Located about 10 minutes walk uphill from Sheung Wan MTR station and very near to Man Moa Temple. Definitely a place of choice for us in HK.
