Interaction with Guests
My interaction depends on the individual, if you want a chat I'm happy to stay, if you want privacy I'll stay away - its your holiday and I'm flexible.
I love the village, how natural it is. Everyone gets on with life, up very early to bed very early. The charm still remains
Bicycles are a great way, plenty of lovely rides around Hoian - we supply a map that show them.
Motorbike are also good (if you know how to ride). Unfortunately Vietnamese can do the most unexpected when they drive......so knowledge of motorbikes is better
Taxi's are easy to organize, plus they are always at An Bang beach proper (10 minute walk away)
Hired cars are also relatively cheap
What we love about Airbnb it's not just about the comfort of the bed and location. It's about the people you meet! Aaron's place ticks off on every score but above and beyond that is how wonderful his wife and him are as hosts. Our family was restricted in our movements by a 6 month old baby but a home away from home it become. An bang exceeded all our expectations as a place it's a rich community with amazing food at the right price. The house is in the perfect location a short walk to everything you could need. The family who look after the house are incredible too and offer as good service as a 5 star hotel!
We couldn't have asked for a better location and experience. The bungalow was perfect for our family of four...kids ages 6 & 9. The beach was just steps away, and we didn't have to go much further for good food. In fact we didn't have to go anywhere for a good meal, as the brights/caretakers who lived next door would cook for us and and bring the food to the bungalow.
It also wasn't very far from Hoi An Town, and was a very convenient point of departure for everything we wanted to do and see.
Aaron was great, and set us up to have most, if not all, of our needs met...restaurant recommendations, taxi phone numbers, etc.
Aaron was an excellent host and we felt at home immediately upon arrival. All of Aaron's staff were pleasant and attentive and made our stay extremely enjoyable. We are already planning our return trip!
The neighborhood is quiet and the people are very friendly.
Hey Stacey - thanks for your feedback. we took our sun lounges and umbrellas off the beach due to the sea getting higher/rougher. They will be put back on the beach at the beginning of March when the weather is better suited to hanging out on the beach. I'm sorry about the confusion.
Aaron and family are such awesome hosts! We were being attended to even before we left NZ and the communication was always excellent.
The bungalow which Aaron designed was superb, the internal layout simple and the outdoors, brilliant and relaxing. Mai and Kick who does some work for Aaron and live next door did a fantastic job of looking after us on a daily basis.
Aaron had also arranged for one of the local families to get some fresh produce from the markets and cook a Vietnamese lunch for us at their home, which was delicious. The whole family from the grandparents to the children were involved. It was such a humbling and memorable experience to be involved with the family and it gave us a good insight into the richness of their daily life compared to ours.
The beach was less than 100m away and it was nice to swim with the locals in the crystal clear warm water. The beach bar/restaurants were handy and were just along from where we were, Soul Kitchen being everyone's favourite. It was also nice to see all the local families down on the beach after work and in the fading light for a swim and a picnic.
Absolutely nothing was too much for Aaron, he walked us to the beach restaurant at 9-30pm on our arrival there, provided us with a local mobile, which is an excellent idea, arranged a scooter, provided 4 pushbikes, took me on the back of his motorbike to the expats bar in Hoi An where we watched the Australia/All Blacks 2nd test, sorry about the result though Aaron.
The perfect host, the perfect place and we are all richer for having stayed there. Oh BTW, your gourmet sausages were really tasty! We're glad, Travis insisted we should try them!
We arrived as your guests and we left to be honoured to call you and your family our friends.
We look forward to the next visit.
500 words could not describe what an amazing time we had in Hoi An in Be's Beach Bungalow. Aaron is definitely one of the best hosts i have ever met! Everything worked out perfectly. Aaron welcomed us when we arrived in Hoi An at 7 am. The bungalow is amazing and provides everything you need. The interior and the decoration is amazing and you feel immidiately comfortable. Furthermore there was a mobile phone provided to call Aaron.
Aarons housekeeper Mai and her husband are two heartily persons. Mai came everyday to clean the bungalow, washed our clothes and bought food from the market for us. The beach is just some steps from the bungalow and you have your own beach loungers. People in the fishing village are all very friendly. There are a lot of good restaurants near the bungalow. We would recommend the restaurants at the beach and also in the street to the bungalow. After our medical emergeny Aaron and his wife helped us a lot. He organized a private car to the hospital to Danang and helped us to change our flight for the next day. We were so thankful for Aarons help and would highly recommend his bungalow to everybody who spends time in Hoi An. Thanks a lot for everything :)
By the way, Hoi An is an amazing city!!!
The building itself is beautiful with a nice neat kitchen with all necessary items, the bed is lovely and comfortable and the shower is lovely with good pressure. You are literally about 30 metres to the beach and a short walk to bars and restaurants. Bikes are provided for your use and it is about 4km into Hoi An city. If you are like me though you'll be better getting Aaron to organise a taxi when you want to go into town, as I don't feel very safe riding in crazy Vietnam traffic. Aaron was a perfect host, he left us a phone with his number in it to call whenever we needed, he arranged taxis for us and suggestions for food and things to do. His housekeeper Mai was also lovely and came and tidied up daily.
Just keep in mind that you are in the middle of a fishing villiage here so everybody rises early 5am, and you will hear noise at that time but if you're an early riser anyway or bring ear plugs you should be ok.
