About this listing
Cloud Nine is one of two rooms on the 2nd floor. A great place for writers and artists as there is a huge desk under the honeycomb windows that look out on to the beautiful hillsides. Both rooms share a wonderful kitchen and large patio with a view.
WELCOME TO THE GOLDEN BEE : 2nd Floor • We are so excited to share this space with you. There are two rooms on the second floor each with their own private bathroom. The second floor is a great place for 2 couples traveling together or a family who need space for 4 people. When renting the entire 2nd floor please rent EACH room via air-bnb and then the calendar will correctly save you the whole floor. Rooms are also rented separately and then the kitchen is shared.
The CLOUD NINE room has two new very comfortable twin beds. The cloud headboards for each bed were carved in the state of Michoacán for this room. There is a King bed converter if requested. The bathroom has new modern plumbing and great hot water and pressure. There are two sweet honeycomb shaped windows that look onto the hillsides of Guanajuato. Under the window is a long desk for writing, drawing, thinking and working. The floors are hand made mosaic tiles from San Miguel Allende. Sara designed the mold herself, so enjoy this original patterned floor. There is also wi-fi and a fantastic patio that looks onto Guanajuato and the church up in Valenciana. The doors, windows and gates are all made of steel so you can lock things up for security but still have light and fresh air.
THERE WILL BE AN ENVELOPE PROVIDED FOR YOU TO LEAVE YOUR $35.00 U.S. or EQUIVALENT IN PESOS REQUIRED CLEANING FEE IN. THANK YOU SO MUCH FROM OUR HOUSE KEEPING STAFF.

The Golden Bee is located on a bus line, just step outside and walk 15 feet to a bus stop. All buses go to the Centro and if you cross the street you can catch a city bus that will take you the Mine and into the Centro from that direction. Also you can just walk down hill and through one of Guanajuato’s famous tunnels into the beauty of the Centro, to explore many great restaurants, museums and shops. Buses are 5 pesos and Taxis to and from the Centro is around 35 pesos.
HAVE YOUR OWN CAR?
There is a 24-hour secured out door parking lot with a guard, one block away from the Golden Bee. It is about 100 pesos a week (around $8.00). They lock the gate to the parking lot at 12:30 am and open it again at 5:30 am.
The Golden Bee is all new construction using a new material called Covintec. Covintec is considered a Lead Platinum Green Product. It is a structural wired panel filled with a rigid insulation, which is than covered with stucco. In completion of the Golden Bee we will have solar water heaters and solar lighting capabilities. We are now is the first stage of building. The second stage will be to add a dance studio and dormitory for future retreats.
The kitchen is a shared kitchen for the two apartments on the second floor. Cloud Nine and The Nest.
Tullia Toolbox (named after the last Queen of Roma) and Galaxy Hammer are the Welcoming Dog Committee. If you are uncomfortable with dogs, don't worry, they have there own gated area to run around in.
There is a beautiful stone wall that surrounds the property and a 20 foot tall old Garambullo cactus tree that is magnificent. We are collecting beautiful exotic plants and on warm days the honeybees buzz among the cactus and fruit trees.
The Golden bee is situated in a residential neighborhood but is only a fifteen-minute walk from down town. Little business and eateries are popping up all the time. A food stand just opened up across the street and there are little grocery stores within walking distance. If you head up the hill behind the Golden Bee there is a beautiful old church at the top with a sweet plaza out front.
Cloud Nine has a very nice patio with a shared kitchen with The Nest. The kitchen is complete with a fridge, stove, oven, microwave and a tap for filtered safe drinking water.
You have your own private room and bathroom. The kitchen and patio area are shared with the other room on the second floor. There is a washing machine on the third floor. Just ask when it is convenient. Every room has its own drying rack for laundry. Please lock the gates and doors.
This neighborhood is so fun to watch change. It is constantly changing with new little shops, currently there is an artisan brewery next door and a barbeque across the street. There is also a kindergarten close by and often the children walk by dressed in costumes, lots of insects and princess' pass by. It is so fun to see them as they head to school. There is a hidden church and plaza above that nobody seems to have discovered yet. The parking lot that we use is only a minute walk down the street. Joggers are running by on the road in the morning. Mexico is growing rapidly and all around us you see the new vitality.
There is a bus stop right out front. You can get a big bus that goes the long way around and into town or a little bus that shoots down Barrio Nuevo and or back up. It is easy to get a taxi up to The Golden Bee. It might be a little wait for a taxi going down. Walking to down town Guanajuato is a downhill 10 -15 min.
If you are looking for dental care we can highly recommended a great dentist and the Golden Bee is a great place to sit in the sun and recover. Our dentist is also one of our neighbors and we both have had great work done by him. He can do anything. Ask us for his info if you need it.

The Golden Bee is located between two neighborhoods. Barrio Neuevo is below and Mellado is above. There are little shops, mostly family owned grocery stores scattered around. People use the Panoramica for jogging in the morning. It is more of a residential neighborhood so it is a little quieter than downtown. There is always something new happening. One of our neighbors has a micro brewery and another has a barbeque stand. If you walk up the hill behind The Golden Bee at the top of the hill there is an old plaza and the Mellado church.
