Sunny studio apartment overlooking 1.5 acres along the Whetstone Brook in Brattleboro. Full kitchen and bath. 15-minute walk to Main Street. Private entrance with back Dutch door opening into gardens & wooded path to the brook. Magical and peaceful.
We had a great stay with Lawrence and Eva. Their studio was very comfortable and charming. Arriving late, they had kindly made up the futon for us and had left breakfast for the next morning in the fridge. Great first AirBnB experience, thank you!
Amazing nook surrounded by nature. Postcard Vermont experience. The hosts could not be more charming or helpful. Highly recommended.
Very hospitable host. A peaceful retreat, where you hear only the crowing of the rooster and the flowing of the brook. A view from the window of brook and mountains. Conveniently, it's minutes from downtown and from the highway. I'd like to go back, and to stay longer next time.
Excellent host. The studio was lovely and stocked with excellent food. Very helpful and kind!
Lawrence was easy to communicate with and gave great directions to their place. Lawrence was there to greet us when we arrived. He made us feel welcome and comfortable. The special effort to provide breakfast goodies of juice, milk, coffee, local granola, assortment of yogurts and bread as well as fresh eggs were appreciated. Even though the weather was cold and rainy for part of the time, their place was cozy and warm. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
We really enjoyed staying here! It's sort of "funky"--just our style. Pull out the futon, throw on some sheets, and you have a very comfortable bed. Admire the wonderful view from this downstairs room that feels carved into the hillside. No stairs to haul luggage up or down. Do to schedules, we didn't get to see much of Lawrence and Eva, but they welcomed us, and our conversation upon leaving made us want to stay longer, be in touch, and come back.
My husband and I were warmly welcomed by Lawrence. We had nothing but a positive experience - the space is beautiful and clean, Lawrence gave us a number of options for dining and tips for hiking. We'd stay again.
Lawrence is a retired educator and the co-founder of a K-12 distance-learning school for homeschoolers. Eva is a retired social worker who maintains a private psychotherapy practice. We live in Brattleboro, VT on the banks of the Whetstone Brook with lovely gardens and some lively chickens.
