This attic room with it's quiet and central location is the perfect place to rest inbetween exploring the city Tromsø and it's surroundings. The roof deck provides magnificent view over the city, harbour and mountains, and truly a feeling of staying at the top of the world!
This amazing panoramic view of the city, the harbour, and the mountains is unique even to Tromsø! In the hillside above town, the old Scandinan style house is placed in a quiet location with minimal traffic. It will offer a good nights sleep after exploring the area wether you've been hiking around the nearby lake, done a pub crawl, cruised the fjords, or just enjoyed the Tromsø life passing by in one of our many cafes and bistros. The apartment is airy and open, with spectacular views and lots of natural light. If you are lucky you can even see the Midnight Sun or the Northern Lights from your deck before you go to bed!
Listing is for one bedroom with exit to its own private roof deck. Your room has a queen size bed, electric heater, full length mirror, and blackout curtains for the Midnight Sun. Guests will also have free access to a downstairs shared bathroom with shower, WC, and hairdryer. Washing machine is also available.
My kitchen is open to you should you wish to prepare your own meals. Guests are welcome to help themselves to coffee and tea anytime, and there is of course WiFi access throughout the apartment.
Interaction with Guests
This is the perfect place for the independent traveler who enjoys a quiet space. If you need advice about what to do while staying I'll be happy to share my Tromsø favourites, so you can enjoy our city and it's surroundings as much as I do! Weekdays I usually work long days on a somewhat flexible schedule. If I'm relaxing at home I like to enjoy a quiet evening with my knitting, some music and a cup of tea or glass of wine :)

Ragni is a great host. the apartment is pretty with beautiful scenery! the room is very cosy.. though the balcony was too cold for us to stay out this period but I had enjoyed the morning view. Ragni is also very informative and helpful! she shared her recommendations and advices on our trip! I miss the knitted comfy guest slippers that she provide for the guests! perfect homestay!
Ragni is a great host and prepared everything even she was not at home when I arrived.
Her house is beautiful and the view from the balcony is very nice. I saw the northen lights on the balcony during my stay. It was so amazing!
A 5 min bus ride from Tromso city centre plus a short walk would get you Ragni's home. It is not difficult to find your way.
To conclude, I enjoyed my stay at Ragni's home!
Lovely apartment overlocking Tromsø! Great host who helped me finding out stuff about things to do in town, and how to get to different locations. If you have the possibility to go to Tromsø, I strongly recommend a stay at Ragnis apartment.
Ragni was a great host! The communication with her started before my trip, and thanks to her I was able to make some adjustments that made my trip to Tromso more pleasant. Ragni is very friendly and accommodating and from the moment you walk into the house she makes you feel welcome. The house is located in a well communicated area. You can take a bus from a nearby bus-stop to the town-center which takes you around 15-20 minutes, or you can just walk as it is a pleasant walk despite the ice (as long as you wear spikes). Tromso is a beautiful city and definitely worth visiting. If you are going there to chase the Aurora, hire one of the many guided trips available (this was Ragni’s suggestion by the way and it worked out great for me).
I cannot thank Ragni enough for making my visit to Tromso a great experience.
Ragni was absolutely wonderful. She was so kind and helpful and her place was perfect. She also has the most spectacular view of Tromsø! We can't wait to come back to visit again and wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else!
A wonderful welcome from Ragni even though we had a late flight she spent time showing us lovely books on the area and the geographic s of her beautiful country. Before we came we had several questions about onward travel ,Hurtigruten etc and Ragni came straight back to us helping us make some very important decisions about our trip, which ended with an amazing Aurora show-thank you so much Ragni !
The apartment is just as described in a quiet setting with the most amazing views over the mountains.Very easy to get into town -we walked as its so beautiful. Ragni is extremely helpful and knowledgeable it was wonderful to stay with her and chat in the evening over a glass of wine. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend staying here -fab host fab stay.
We had such a wonderful time staying with Ragni. Her home has a beautiful view of the city and is a convenient 20 minute walk into town on the snowy, narrow streets of Tromso. The room is cozy and warm, the shower is hot and the bed is so comfortable. Ragni was also a great host. She was so welcoming to us, and gladly recommended breakfast cafes and a lookout to catch the northern lights. I definitely recommend this to anyone looking to stay in Tromso!

I'm a marine biologist who shares her time between the sea - either for for work or on trips with my kayak - and the urban land life of our little big city Tromsø.
I enjoy seing my part of the world through the eyes of my guests, and having the world come to me when I'm not traveling myself. Learning languages are a big part of traveling for me, and I'd love to learn a word or two of yours!
