I stayed at Kate's lovely apartment for 16 nights during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. I was traveling alone, and the flat was just about perfect for me. It's close to a major venue, and it could get a bit loud at night, but I just shut the window and it was no problem at all. Kate was excellent to deal with before hand, friendly in person, and had stocked a few little breakfast goodies. (Unnecessary, but it's a nice touch and appreciated.) In terms of location (especially during the Fringe) I really couldn't ask for better. The flat itself had plenty of room, the bed was comfortable, the wifi worked well, etc. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again!
The flat was warm and comfortable and is very well positioned for sightseeing in Edinburgh. There are shops and eateries nearby and the makings of breakfast were provided. We would be happy to book it again.
We stayed in Kate's flat for four nights during our stay in Edinburgh. The place was very clean and in a great location. Kate was very responsive, accommodating and flexible with our travel schedule. She provided recommendations on places to visit and eat, as well as supplied us with bread, milk, eggs, etc. so we could enjoy breakfast there. We had a wonderful time and I will absolutely be back if I make it to Scotland again...I highly recommend staying at Kate's!
We had an amazing time in Edinburgh which is a great city. Kate’s flat is very well located : 5-10 minutes walk from the main street and city centre attractions. It was easy to get to the flat from the airport and Kate was waiting for us. She had also provided food for breakfast, we appreciated. The flat was very cute, tidy, clean and furnished with everything we needed, although we would have appreciated to have a TV to watch after a long day of walk and sightseeing ! The major negative point is the bed that we didn’t find very confortable and the road in front of the flat a bit busy in the evening.
However, we recommand the location to discover Edinburgh!
We were very happy with this apartment. It is excellently located for Fringe Festival goers (with some of the fringe venues a short walk away) and general site seers (with Waverley Station, the Old Town, Royal Mile, Parliament, Arthur's Seat, Grass Market and Edinburgh Castle all within walking distance). What more could we ask for?
The flat was very clean and Katy had stocked the fridge with some breakfast basics, which was most welcome. She also dropped in a list of local attractions and restaurant and bar recommendations, which we enjoyed. I was pleased to find that the flat is brighter than it appears in the photos.
We had a small hiccup getting in after picking up the keys, as the apartment number wasn't included on the air bnb booking confirmation. But once we managed to get through to Kate by phone we got in and were very happy with everything. So we advise you make sure you confirm the apartment number with Kate once you have booked so you are clear on that when you arrive at the building.
The flat is right in the thick of it (which is exactly what we wanted) and is on a busy road, with some traffic and festival-goers, but that added to the atmosphere as far as we were concerned and the double-glazed windows really worked amazingly well at blocking the sound when the windows were closed.
Another reviewer mentioned a smokey smell in the apartment. We are non-smokers, and although we could at times detect a slight smokey smell, it was not powerful and did not worry us.
Great location for the festival, right in the heart of the action and literally less than 100 yds from The Pleasance. Kate was very flexible with our arrengements, particularly when we had to cut short by a day, refunding some of the money when this wasn't necessary.
Kate leaves bread, butter, milk, orange juice etc and this is really welcome when you arrive late at night.
The area is a little noisy, given it's proximity to the festival venues, but this was not a problem for us.
Best suits smokers as the bedroom was a bit smokey.
Kate was very friendly and helpful, and the flat was both very well located and pleasant to stay in. Everything worked fine, and it was also very clean. Kate even had left us food for breakfast in the fridge. All in all, my wife and I had a good time in Kate's apartment, and we'd try to stay there again when returning to Edinburgh!
The flat was clean and neat and very close to the Royal mile. Kate had left some essentials like bread, eggs, butter and milk which was wonderful, as we didn't have to immediately locate a supermarket. The internet was very fast and on the whole the flat was quiet and warm.
The flat was as described, and extremely well-located, being convenient to Old Town attractions and transportation links. The host was very accommodating to the timing of our arrival and in stocking the kitchen with some breakfast essentials. Wifi connection was also very fast and reliable. I would definitely recommend this flat for a visit to Edinburgh.
