Myself and four girlfriends have just returned from a weekend break at Jonathan’s barn, we absolutely loved it! It’s fantastically located in a quiet residential area on the edge of Settle with beautiful views of the Dales from every window, yet only a five minute walk uphill from the town centre. The barn came equipped with everything you could possibly need – a fully stocked kitchen, essentials in the fridge, towels, bed linen, hairdryer, toiletries etc – and the welcome hamper of prosecco, chocolate and shortbread was a lovely touch. The barn is laid out over three floors (if you include the mezzanine level) so there was plenty of room to spread out; the five of us each had our own space which was great. The contemporary, light yet cosy feel of the place made for a relaxing retreat after a bracing day walking in the Dales!
If we had to offer any criticism, we would say that the barn could benefit from a microwave and extractor fans in the bathrooms but that’s just us being picky. As a group of five girls getting ready for a night out, mirrors in the bedrooms would also have been helpful but we appreciate that the mirror provided in each bathroom would be more than adequate for most people!
Overall we’d wholeheartedly recommend this wonderful holiday cottage to anyone - thank you Jonathan for having us :D
We booked very last minute and Jonathan was happy to accommodate us. The pictures do not do this place justice - it was idyllic. Upon arrival, we had wine, biscuits and shortbread waiting for us as well as milk in the fridge which was a nice touch. We will definitely be returning! :-)
Great place only a short walk from the train station. Lovely picturesque setting with fabulous views from each window. Plenty of space, nicely decorated and plenty of towels/ bed linen.
Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to explore this delightful part of Yorkshire.
We had a fabulous stay at this property. The first weekend away with the ladies for some time! The barn is furnished and styled well. I would highly recommend staying here. Thanks so much.
This beautifully converted barn exceeded expectations. It was very well presented and also spacious and very comfortable. The views were lovely and it is in a wonderful area. Everything provided was exceptionally clean. It is a very well kept property, aesthetically pleasing but also welcoming and great place to relax. We couldn't find instructions for the Eco burner. We didn't need it this time but hope they will be there next time as we definitely hope to come back.
