  • Alfie and Kenji are absolutly respectfull and friendly. They were allways available to help us, allways find some nice food and drinks for the breakfast. Unfortunatly, Tokyo didn t let us some time to share moment with them but when we chat with them, that was allways a pleasure. We know that their place is the place where we will come next time we visit Japan! thank you for all !!!

  • We had a great time at Alfie and Kenji's house, which is conveniently located near one of the major subway stations, and just as nice as the pictures describe. Alfie took us to eat in a small but delicious izakaya, which we would have never found otherwise, and we had great talks and a lovely evening that day.
All in all, Alfie and Kenji are wonderful hosts, always making good suggestions as to improve our trip, helping us with anything we needed, providing us with good pastries for breakfast (and even Shôchû late at night ^_^ ). Special mention must be made about the beds which were better than at home !
I would recommend them to anyone wanting to travel to Tokyo, and I hope I can return there someday myself !

  • Alfie and Kenji have a talent for welcoming their guests. Their home is perfectly situated at one stop form Ikebukuro. It is also quiet, modern, tidy comfortable and spacious enough. We totally recommend their place as a perfect base to investigate bustling Tokyo.

  • Alfie was a fantastic host. My wife and I loved staying in his beautiful, modern, well-decorated home. It's a short walk from the Kanamecho station along a local neighborhood shopping street. Kanamecho is one stop, or a 20 min walk, from Ikebukuro which is one of the major stations in Tokyo so you have great access to the rest of the city. Every day walking home from the station we felt like Tokyo residents living in this quiet, charming neighborhood. Every morning Alfie left us coffee and pastries so we could get a good start to a busy day in Tokyo. Our bedroom was downstairs so it felt very private with its own half-bath too. The mobile data hotspot was incredibly useful and since it was free it added tremendous value to staying with Alfie and Kenji. We highly recommend this Airbnb and would stay again.

  • My girlfriend and I loved staying in Alfie and Kenji´s home. It was our first time in Japan and it could not have been better! They were absolutely wonderful hosts providing coffee, teas, breads and fruits in the mornings. We had a wonderful room to stay in that was clean, tidy and had fresh towels. The guys were always very helpful and so easy to talk to. Would recommend to anyone going to Japan to have a stay at Alfie and Kenji´s Urban Tokyo house!

  • My Girlfriend and I had a great stay in Tokyo with Kenji and Alfie, they were very accommodating, we had an unusual schedule and only briefly met Kenji during our stay, but everything was already laid out for us, spare key to let ourselves in and breakfast waiting for us the next morning.easy to follow instructions to find the house, very clean, close to a subway station and 1 stop away from the JR line which made travelling tokyo easy and cheap when doubled with a JR pass. we couldn't ask for anything more in a guest house. Highly Recommended!

  • We had our first stay with airbnb at Alfie and Kenji's place and it was great first experience. The room was nice and clean, and perfect for us two. They had a air conditioning unit in the room so even though it was a bit cold outside we could adjust the room temperature to our liking. Also the mobile wifi hotspot they lent us helped a lot when we where lost.

Alfie and Kenji also helped a lot with suggestions when it comes to things to see and experience in Tokyo and our stay went to fast.

All in all we would recommend Alfie and Kenji to everyone visiting Tokyo.

  • This is my first experience staying in a BnB in Tokyo. I am happy to say that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our hosts, Alfie and Kenji, were really helpful and friendly. Their home is very comfortable and nicely done up. We enjoyed the homely atmosphere and environment. There are many nice local Japanese restaurants within walking distance and the railway station is only a 10 minute walk from the house. It was great to be provided with a mobile broadband data modem during our stay. We were able to immediately connect our smartphones and start connecting with our friends and family overseas. Even the 5 star hotels do not provide this service. I will definitely stay here again. Arigato gozaimas to Alfie and Kenji.

  • I stay there for 3 nights. Alfie and Kenji were really nice! The house is very confortable, they make coffee every morning and they have fruits and bread for guests.
If you like riding on bicycle is a nice place to go around.
    Very recommendable!

  • We didn't even notice there was somebody else in the house. Great place to stay if you're looking for a quiet neighborhood and not far away from public transport. The portable wifi was of great help to guides us. The flat is everything you see in the pictures. Thank you Alfie!

Born & raised in Texas but based in Tokyo now. Live with my partner, Kenji. Early 30's, mature, respectful professionals who work hard but know how to enjoy life. With our Southern/Texas & Japanese backgrounds, hospitality comes quite naturally to us. I studied abroad in Bangkok, Thailand and Paris, France and Kenji studied abroad in NYC during our university days so definitely have a global perspective on things. Interested in traveling, photography, skin care, cooking, home renovation & interior design. Spent about 3 years designing and renovating the house. Our design aesthetic is clean, modern and uncluttered; a bit Japanesey with a mid-century modern flair. Although we are done with most of our interior design projects, we are continuously looking for ways to improve the comfort and design of our space. As for cooking, my specialty is Mexican and bbq. Kenjis' is Italian and Japanese. We love good quality food/ingredients, nice wine, and Japanese beer. We have a particular weakness for champagne & macarons. We also love collecting good quality cookware and kitchen gadgets and have a small but growing collection of Japanese knives and handmade Japanese ceramic dinnerware. Love watching cooking & design shows and never get tired of a good old-fashioned make-over. I fell in love with Tokyo when I first moved here and haven't stopped being amazed by the city every single day. Best place in the world for food, fashion, and shopping as far as I'm concerned. The most fulfilling part of having guests for me is that it gives me the opportunity to help others discover the city and fall in love with it too.
