Danny was an awesome host! He was very responsive and was very understanding of my crazy flight schedule. He is a very hands off host, once he gave us the tour of the place and check in was completed it was basically like having your own place. The apartment was pretty much what I expected for an apartment in new york it was small, but still accommodated 5 of us really well. It was very close to the subways, there were lots of really cute places to eat around there, and you can escape the madness of Manhattan easily. I would definitely stay at Danny's place again.
The place is simple, but as expected by the price.
The subway is very near, which helped a lot.
Very good place to stay in NY.
Close to Subway Q&N line.
Many restaurants and marts around the house.
The house is just same as pictures.
Dan is always available.
Great host and house and want to stay again if I visit Queens.
Danny received us in his appartment, showed and offered his help for everything. He was fast in answering per SMS our questions.
Danni was very welcoming, friendly guy! We did arrive a little later because of the bus, but he was more than happy to make sure we were checked in properly.
The apartment appears brighter then in real life not a real issue, and everything was the same from the ad pics.
The only disappointment from the apartment was the bathroom. Awesome mirrors! But it wasn't as up to date as I'm use to it. Certainly livable but not the best.
Other good things: It was really close to the subway. I was able to go to the city, whenever because it was so close. Danni also provided blowup beds for additional guest. I also appreciated a gated home. His home was simple, literally a place to crash, while we went sightseeing. For anyone looking for luxury probably not the place. But pretty decent, had a few towels and kitchen utensils if you shall need it.
Hiccups: I am from out of town and I guess it would be safe to assume that our locks are just different. Danni should probably explain that the door has to be unlocked a specific way. We had a hard time getting in one night, and it was kinda scary considering we had nowhere else to go. Thankfully Danni finally answered (it was pretty late), and we eventually figured it out.
Overall experience was ok! Again just a place to lay your head, nothing fancy.
Danny's Apt photos were very accurate and up to date and clean. He is a great host, he waited while we ran late. I was especially happy on the location many restaurants, subways are near bar. The only thing I would say is to let guest know heating is controlled by the building complex, so guests may need to bring a space heater. We arrived on a especially cold evening. But besides that everything was good. Danny even left out all the take out menus of local eateries in the area so we could get delivery.
The location is great, we had the subway 5 minutes far from the apartment and it really was a central place near Manhattan, however when we arrived the place was a mess, the apartment hadn't been cleaned up after the last guest left and everything looked awful. The check in was supposed to be at 6:00 pm and we arrived at 5:30 but it took until 7:00 for the room to be ready and in the description of the room it was mentioned that there were 2 beds and one sofa-bed and when we arrived there was only one bed, the sofa-bed was harder than a rock and there was two inflatable mattress, they were not that bad after all but I was expecting to see two beds as in the web site description.
In spite of the previous mentioned, the room was equipped with everything else you might need, refrigerator and freezer, stove, dishes, glasses and cutlery, towels and fast speed internet.
