We join the choir in singing praises for this lovely retreat. We spent a comfy month here; Jais was there when we needed her and otherwise gave us the privacy we wanted. It isnt fancy or conventional, but neither are we, and this was just what we wanted.
The cottage was cozy, comfortable, and in a very nice neighborhood. Parking was never a problem. Our hosts were very accommodating. We would not hesitate to stay there again on our return visits to the area.
Jais' house was a perfect base for me and my family while in the bay area. It was cozy, clean and private. Parking was never a problem and I felt that my car was safe. Jais was thoughtful enough to leave bagels, coffee, half and half, juice and butter for us to have in the a.m. so that we could procrastinate going to the store. A nice touch. She set up a bed downstairs for my daughter with a beautiful vintage bedspread on top. The bed upstairs had a firm mattress and was really comfortable. The weather was cold during our stay, but there were plenty of extra blankets for us to use. The heater warmed the place very quickly as well. The kitchen was very functional and the water filtration system was an added bonus. The bathroom is small, but plenty big for one person at a time. We didn't use the patio because it was too chilly outside, but it looked perfect for sharing a cup of coffee. All and all a perfect experience. We would definitely stay here again and I have already recommended to friends. Thanks Jais!
Having a week at this cottage retreat was perfect for our time with family and friends over the Christmas week. The location is perfect, as so many people note, and the cottage is immaculate. We appreciate all Jais did for our festive time.
The cottage retreat is a lovely, private, and clean place to stay in the Bay Area. The location is great! It's a Beautiful safe neighborhood with parking! There is easy freeway access and is centrally located for travel, and buying groceries by car. The Cottage Retreat is an ideal place to relax and lounge. The bed and couch were comfortable. There's a nice outside deck to enjoy breakfast and coffee. There was fruit, bagels, and coffee for the next morning when we arrived. Jais is friendly and a gracious host. We recommend staying at their Cottage Retreat!
Jais' cottage is so lovely - it would be something you'd like to come home to especially at the end of an overwhelming business day.
My trip, though business by nature, gave me a zen-state with her place.
I'd recommend her place and will definitely come back when I'm in town.
The stay at the cottage was great! I stayed here with my boyfriend for a little over a month. There is a lot of space and privacy and there is a lovely garden in the back and front, and a porch to sit outside on. It's a great homestead if you have a car to travel into downtown Oakland/SF. Would definitely recommend!
It's adorable! Super clean, super cute. The coffee & scones made our morning.
Jais & her partner were nice people. We enjoyed meeting them. They were very helpful & easy-going.
Our only issue was purely circumstantial. They were just coming off the road as we were so the place wasn't yet tided up from the last folks. But, they were so cool & quick to fix it up & the cottage appeared to be kept up really well, anyhow.
We would stay again, for sure :)
The cottage is awesome! Stylish, surrounded by an old garden, very quiet with much more then you might need inside - this is the guest house of Jais. A splandid place if you love nature and have a car to get to SF, shops, restaurants - civilization, in a word. The hosts are extremely delicate, willingly responding to all requests, intelligent. We are very grateful to them for a for the lovely stay.
everything was easy with getting to the cottage, getting the key and having a few breakfast items available so we didn't have to go out. a nice retreat cottage. the photos make it brighter and cheerier than it was which is a dimly lighted place.
