Bedroom is within a mother-in-law apartment. My son stays with his mom during the week, so his room and queen size bed are available. Shower and kitchen privileges. TV and wifi are available during your stay (Netflix, no cable). Nice private backyard. Plenty of stores within driving distance.
Given the other options in the area, our space is unique as you basically have access to anything you would normally need in a well-kept apartment. The bed is clean and comfortable and my rate is very low, especially when compared to others. I have traveled extensively, so I have a relatively good understanding with what a good host provides. I think you'll agree. I'm a teacher, so I'm normally gone during the days and arrive late afternoon early evening. I'm not one to sit around and watch TV, so the living room is yours while your here. It's a simple and inexpensive place to rest, shower, eat, and enjoy. I will allow children for an additional $10 per night. I make sure your stay is easy, organized, and convenient. :) Cheers, James
You will have access to the living room (Occasionally private use during your stay), wireless internet, large flat screen, (Netflix, no cable), bathroom with shower, and kitchen. You will also receive fresh juice, fruit, bagels and cream cheese, milk, coffee, and tea. You will also receive a new pouf, shampoo, towels, wash clothes, and body wash for your stay.
I have primarily communicated via email and text. Of course, I can speak with you on the phone, too! :) Most of my guest arrive later, so I respect their privacy. I'm also accustomed to late arrivals, so no worries.
There are many historical attractions in and around Barre. Montpeiler being right up the road offers a wonderful Vermont setting with a variety of cultural experiences. Burlington is 35 minutes north. Montreal is about 1.5 hours from Burlington.
There is public transportation, but I'm unsure how to access the information related to this. There is also an Barre City welcome center that will guide you in the right direction. IF you're simply passing through and need a place to stay for the night, my apartment is for you. Your privacy is fully respected. Aside from our initial conversation, it is likely you won't see me when you leave, as I leave early for work. In most cases, you will have the apartment to yourself, as I sometimes visit my son a little further north. Burlington is a must see location. From there, Montreal offers the ultimate escape from the mountains to a diversified adventure!
This is a quiet area. Whether you're just looking to pass through or stay a few nights as a base location, you will certainly find things to do 20 miles in any direction.
This place - an apartment in a private house - is clean, warm, and well-organized. It's a great place to stay if you have things to do in the area.
James and his mom were wonderful hosts too.
My boyfriend and I arrived late and tired in snowy weather, and James welcomed us into the cozy and homey apartment. He was friendly and helpful, and also gave us privacy after a long day. Thoughtful details like a pair of mugs and spoons on the counter for coffee in the morning, and a list with wifi information next to a map of the area made me feel extra comfortable and cared for.
We were just passing through town, and I wish we could have stayed longer. Would certainly recommend!
I had a really good stay in Jame´s house, very clean and organized, super tranquil and well located.
Everything went smoothly from getting there, picking up the keys and leaving. A shame he wasn´t around for long but Laura who lives next door was very nice to meet, she has interesting stories to tell.
James gave me many great hints as to what to do and see, as I had come for leaf spotting and most had gone already.
I can only recommend staying with James, you will be well taken care of.
It was a very brief but wonderful stay. We had fresh towels, shower gels and breakfast in the morning. It was wonderful.
