A clean, simple, and modern space, designed by Wisznia architects. The building is called the Maritime building, New Orleans original skyscraper. It's in the perfect location to visit the French Quarter, the convention center, or the superdome.
The nights of December 22nd, 23rd, and the 24th are now just $85 a night! This does not include the $100 cleaning fee that I pay my cleaning lady.
$180 is the average price throughout the year. This price could vary anywhere from $95 to $350 depending on if it's a holiday, special event, or overall a certain time of year you're inquiring about. Hotels operate in the same fashion, but I always try to stay below hotels such as Monteleone, and other top rated fancier hotels.
Stay in luxury at the "first skyscraper to be built in New Orleans." The building was built in 1889.
It sits one block from Bourbon and Canal St. Canal St. is what separates the Central Business District from the French Quarter. You would truly be at the center of it all.
-king sized bed
-large L shaped couch
-flat screen television
On the roof there is a heated pool, electric grill, fitness room, and sauna.
Feel free to cook and utilize the kitchen. Sorry but I don't have a stock of food, spices, herbs, etc. Not yet anyway. The only thing I really have is salt and pepper, and the shakers to go with it.
All the doormen are extremely friendly and helpful. Any questions you have about restaurants, shopping, etc. they will gladly answer.
You will need to bring your own soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc. unless a special request is made. I do provide hand soap, laundry soap, dish soap, counter top spray, towels, and dryer sheets. I now have a collection of travel size everything that has been left by past guests.
The kitchen is fully furnished aside from the spice/herb issue as far as appliances and cookware is concerned, dishes, cups etc.
This apt. is perfect for a couple, small family, or solo on business. Air mattress is available upon request.
There are a couple of bikes in the lobby that belong to the building that you may use.
Checkout is noon. Check-in is 4pm. These are the guidelines. If a guest is leaving the same day one is arriving this gives me time to clean in between guests. Checkout and check-in is otherwise flexible.
Clean up any large messes, no shoes on the carpet, and if you break it, you buy it.
Please clean up any large messes. If you break anything or stain anything I would appreciate you replacing the item or paying for the professional cleaning. Please no shoes on the carpet, and as little as possible inside the house. Also, this is not a party house! Of course you may drink, and get as drunk as you like, but shouting, screaming, running through the hallways, playing music very loudly, inviting a large group over...this cannot happen. I think you get the idea. This is not a hotel. This is my house.
Darin's apartment was great! Very welcoming and fully furnished. Even the bar was stocked! Great location within walking distance of the French Quarter and Jackson Square. Street car stop is a just around the corner. We have visited New Orleans many times and this apartment was much more comfortable than a hotel. The apartment was very clean and had nice quality linens and furniture. We will stay with Darin again.
We were so pleased with Darin's apt in The Maritime. It was better than the photos. It's like a large hotel suite with lots of windows , it had everything we needed : kitchen , large flat screen TV , large bathroom. I used the exercise equipment on the 11th floor where they also have a small pool and free washers/dryers. The location is great , we caught the St. Charles streetcar a block away to go to Audubon Park. A block away is a convenient CVS and across the street from that is the French Quarter ! A block away in another direction is the Roosevelt hotel with the most beautiful bar in the world , the Sazerac Bar. Right next door from the Maritime is a cute Illy coffee café that has crêpes and salads. The location was so perfect to explore the French Quarter , the riverfront , the Warehouse District. And there are streetcars a block away to go to see City Park in one direction and the Garden District in another. A week in New Orleans wasn't enough ! We also saw more than half a dozen Mardi Gras parades. Most people don't realize that the first parade is on January 6 and they continue through Fat Tuesday.
My partner and I stayed at Darin's condo in New Orleans last week for business and pleasure. He was a conscientious host attending to our needs and offering tips for good music and fun. His place was well equipped with everything we needed and more. The space was very clean and comfortable. The security staff were very friendly and helpful. Our only complaint was the noise. There was construction and we were awakened by the lovely sound of jackhammers each morning, as well as busy city sounds that echoed up through the windows. Overall great location, close to everything.
The condo was exactly as pictured, bright, spacious and perfect for a couple. My boyfriend and I rented it for 9 days while we were in New Orleans. The decor is very modern, the bed is very comfortable and everything is very clean. Since it is just next to the French Quarter, it can be a bit noisy - lots of construction nearby during the day and partiers roaming the streets at night. However, if you wear earplugs at night you can easily sleep - I'm a light sleeper and I slept just fine with earplugs. Super close to everything you need too! The front desk people were so lovely and helpful too. Really happy with our stay!
Darin is a cool guy and extremely soft spoken. He made my wife and I feel very welcome on our first trip to New Orleans. The condo is amazing - right on the outer fringes of the French Quarter, walking distance from everything. It's sleek and definitely a great place to stay while experiencing the city. The only drawback is that the condo sits directly over a trolly line, and gets rather loud. All in all though, a big thumbs up.
This was my first time using airbnb and it was amazing. the apartment is ace. Huge, clean, comfortable and in the heart of the wonderful city that is New Orleans. Booking the room and getting access couldn’t have been easier and big shout out’s too the door men (and woman) who helped us out throughout our stay. It was a home from home and me and my wife Loved it. Thanks Darin! x

I am originally from a small town in Indiana but now love and am proud to call New Orleans home. My life at this point is basically distilling, brewing, billiards, botany, and travel. I have a 40,000 sq. ft. warehouse where I am currently building and raising money for a distillery/brewery/perfumery/farm.
