About This Listing
A clean, simple, and modern space, designed by Wisznia architects. The building is called the Maritime building, New Orleans original skyscraper. It's in the perfect location to visit the French Quarter, the convention center, or the superdome.
$180 is the average price throughout the year. This price could vary anywhere from $95 to $350 depending on if it's a holiday, special event, or overall a certain time of year you're inquiring about. Hotels operate in the same fashion, but I always try to stay below hotels such as Monteleone, and other top rated fancier hotels.
Stay in luxury at the "first skyscraper to be built in New Orleans." The building was built in 1889.
It sits one block from Bourbon and Canal St. Canal St. is what separates the Central Business District from the French Quarter. You would truly be at the center of it all.
-king sized bed
-large L shaped couch
-flat screen television
On the roof there is a heated pool, electric grill, fitness room, and sauna.
Feel free to cook and utilize the kitchen. Sorry but I don't have a stock of food, spices, herbs, etc. Not yet anyway. The only thing I really have is salt and pepper, and the shakers to go with it.
All the doormen are extremely friendly and helpful. Any questions you have about restaurants, shopping, etc. they will gladly answer.
You will need to bring your own soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc. unless a special request is made. I do provide hand soap, laundry soap, dish soap, counter top spray, towels, and dryer sheets. I now have a collection of travel size everything that has been left by past guests.
The kitchen is fully furnished aside from the spice/herb issue as far as appliances and cookware is concerned, dishes, cups etc.
This apt. is perfect for a couple, small family, or solo on business. Air mattress is available upon request.
There are a couple of bikes in the lobby that belong to the building that you may use.
Checkout is noon. Check-in is 4pm. These are the guidelines. If a guest is leaving the same day one is arriving this gives me time to clean in between guests. Checkout and check-in is otherwise flexible.
Clean up any large messes, no shoes on the carpet, and if you break it, you buy it.
Please clean up any large messes. If you break anything or stain anything I would appreciate you replacing the item or paying for the professional cleaning. Please no shoes on the carpet, and as little as possible inside the house. Also, this is not a party house! Of course you may drink, and get as drunk as you like, but shouting, screaming, running through the hallways, playing music very loudly, inviting a large group over...this cannot happen. I think you get the idea. This is not a hotel. This is my house.
Darin was great with communication and the whole process was very easy as we booked last minute and were arriving late.
The apartment is in a great location, close enough to the French Quarter to walk but far enough away to not feel seedy when you step out onto the street. The apartment was clean and bed comfortable. A few things were broken, like the couch feet, bathroom cupboard door and also the laundry. We were able to use the free one in the building however so not too much hassle.
Overall we had a great experience, and would stay again.
The apartment was beautiful, modern and very homely. There was plenty of room for two of us and we were very comfortable. It was close to the Quarter and Bourbon Street which was great for us never being in NOLA before. The doorman was real helpful and the pool was great to cool down in too. The only criticism we have was the construction noise outside where they were repairing the road. All day, even early hours in the morning which we figured out was due to cars driving over the repairs which was super loud, even up on the 8th floor. But I am sure this will be completed soon and aside from that, absolutely awesome! Highly recommended! Excellent value for money.
The apartment was great. It's quite large and full of natural light. Although we didn't spend a lot of time at the apartment (we were always out exploring NOLA) it was nice to come home to a hot shower and a comfortable bed.
The location is great - easy to access to Bourbon Street, Riverwalk Outlets and public transport. Frenchman St is only 20 minutes walk if you want to hear some great music.
Darin was very easy to deal with and responds quickly. We would recommend his apartment to other young couples keen to explore what NOLA has to offer.
Darin is a great host. Attentive and responsive to emails. The 8th floor condo is excellent: clean, quiet, comfortable bed, very friendly doorman, great location, convenient to french quarter and convention center on foot.

About the Host, Darin
I am originally from a small town in Indiana but now love and am proud to call New Orleans home. My life at this point is basically distilling, brewing, billiards, botany, and travel. I have a 40,000 sq. ft. warehouse where I am currently building and raising money for a distillery/brewery/perfumery/farm.
