The Space

Stay in luxury at the "first skyscraper to be built in New Orleans." The building was built in 1889.

It sits one block from Bourbon and Canal St. Canal St. is what separates the Central Business District from the French Quarter. You would truly be at the center of it all.

-king sized bed

-large L shaped couch

-flat screen tv

-desk

-hardwood floors

-beautiful kitchen

On the roof there is a heated pool, electric grill, fitness room, and sauna.

Feel free to cook and utilize the kitchen. Sorry but I don't have a stock of food, spices, herbs, etc. Not yet anyway. The only thing I really have is salt and pepper, and the shakers to go with it.

All the doormen are extremely friendly and helpful. Any questions you have about restaurants, shopping, etc. they will gladly answer.

You will need to bring your own soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc. unless a special request is made. I do provide hand soap, laundry soap, dish soap, counter top spray, and dryer sheets.

The kitchen is fully furnished aside from the spice/herb issue as far as appliances and cookware is concerned, dishes, cups etc.

This apt. is perfect for a couple, small family, or solo on business. Air mattress is available upon request.

There are a couple of bikes in the lobby that belong to the building that you may use.

Checkout is noon. Check-in is 4pm. Strict, no exceptions. Once in a while I can let guests in at 2 or 3 because I've finished cleaning early.

Clean up any large messes, no shoes on the carpet, and if you break it, you buy it.

  • The apartment was nice decorated and clean. However, there were a few issues. The room was almost 80 degrees (it was in the 90s outside) when we arrived and we tried for almost 45mins to figure out how to work it. Finally we called Darin and he told us to try switching the main electrical switch off and on, this did not work. We had to go down to the front desk and tell them call the maintenance man who was on call due to the holiday weekend. He did come and fix the problem and it was not an issue the rest of our time there. We could not figure out how to work the washer/dryer combo. This would not have been an issue if we did not have to wash bath towels due to the fact there were not enough. We ended up having to go buy extra towels. We could not find a garbage dispenser and the doorman was clueless, so we just left our trash bag full of trash in the kitchen area. Other than these issues the location was great.

  • The place is just as advertised. Really great place and nicely decorated. Great location too. Its a 1 block from all the madness of Bourbon street, just cross Canal and you are on Bourbon. If you take Canal down a few blocks you get to the casinos. Electronic key entrance to the building for extra security. I really enjoyed my visit here and on my next visit and I would stay here again.

  • Great spot for a week in Nola. Darin's place is the ideal location for work and play. Really constable, great space and very clean. I'll stay there again.

  • This place was amazing. It was clean and spacious, decorated nicely even some newly plotted plants to add some green and stocked with everything you'll need on vacation. Darin made sure everything was spotless before we arrived. There's an outdoor pool upstairs that we really enjoyed. Some other reviewers didn't like the noise level, but it's really not that noisy. Darin responds pretty quickly to help with anything you need.

  • Darin's place a very central to basically everything but still just far enough from Bourbon St (less than a 5 minute walk) to avoid the late night ruckus. As far the noise everyone talks about, if you've ever lived downtown in a large city, the noise is in line with that if not a little bit quieter because the windows are more modern and the condo is high enough up.

The condo is spacious, everything is new and modern looking. There are a lot of good restaurants in the area. We had a really good time staying here and I definitely would recommend it.

  • Could not have found a better place. Darin was a great host and his condo sits right in the middle of it all. Casino two blocks down, Bourbon is only a block away, and well Canal St is just around the corner. Overall a great experience. I will definitely be coming back to his place if I happen to visit New Orleans again.

  • Amazing experience right in the heart of New Orleans. Apartment was beautiful. Cannot recommend enough. Will be coming back for years to come.

  • Pretty easy check in and out. Building is in a fantastic location. I suggest you do ask Darin when you check in that he show you how to operate the washer/dryer combo machine and the air conditioning. I couldn't figure out how to get the dryer to work and the AC. The apartment stayed at 75 which was a bit too warm for me.

About
I am originally from a small town in Indiana, born to a Christian minister father-I now live in the great city of New Orleans. My life at this point is basically distilling, billiards, botany, and motorcycles. I have a 40,000 sq. ft. warehouse where I am currently building and raising money for a distillery/brewery/perfumery/farm. I spend most of my time here or running errands. Soon though I hope to have my hard work pay off so I can have a few more daycations!
