Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
Our homesteader’s cabin is nestled on a 400 acre ranch with a backdrop of stunning red cliffs. The cabin has been thoughtfully appointed with everything you need plus breakfast fixings & fresh eggs from our chickens. Premium Nectar mattress w/ quality linens. Find solitude and peace as you walk our canyon and see sunsets like you've never seen. Stars abound in the night sky plus you can see the Milky Way from your porch. High speed Wifi is a bonus!

The space
Lyman’s Place is an original homesteader’s cabin full of rustic charm and character. The cabin features original wood plank floors, rough-sawn beams and paneling, and hand-finished cob walls that create a warm, cozy atmosphere.

The space includes a kitchen and dining area, along with an attached bedroom and seating area. It’s perfect for traveling couples or adventurous solo travelers looking for a unique stay with a comfortable, lived-in feel.

The cabin features a fully functional, well-stocked kitchen with a propane 3-burner stovetop and oven, cookware, dishes, utensils, coffee maker, French press, toaster, blender, pantry basics, spices, oil, sweeteners, paper towels, foil, and other essentials. We try to make the space feel as comfortable and convenient as home.

You will have access to our private canyon, numerous gardens and produce in season, as well as our goats, chickens and horses (complimentary farm tour is included in your nightly rate, please give at least 24 hours notice if you’d like to schedule a tour.)

A queen Murphy bed with a memory foam mattress provides a comfortable sleeping setup. To use the bed, the dining table and chairs simply fold away, which only takes a couple of minutes.

Guests can relax with a TV equipped with a Fire Stick and access to streaming apps such as Amazon Prime Video and Netflix.

We also provide breakfast items such as farm fresh eggs, bacon, fruit, English muffins, bagels with cream cheese, juice, coffee, tea, and creamer.

Outside, guests can enjoy the hot tub, firepit, and beautiful surrounding area. Two kayaks with life jackets are available for guest use at nearby reservoirs located about 10 minutes away. Guests will need a vehicle suitable for transporting the kayaks, or we can deliver and pick them up for an additional fee.

The cabin has a full bathroom with a shower/tub combo; however, the hot water tank is small (approximately 19 gallons), so showering is recommended rather than taking baths. There is plenty of hot water for a comfortable hot shower, but guests should allow some recovery time between longer showers.

Guest access
Your privacy is respected on our ranch. You have your own private cabin, bath, porch, and reserved parking area. You will have access to a shared yard, firepit area, adjacent treehouse, and garden when in season. You will also have access to hike around our private canyon, but please follow all host rules and recommendations before doing so.

AN IMPORTANT NOTE TO OUR GUESTS: The North Rim of the Grand Canyon is closed from December 1st-May 15. The only ways to visit the GC during this time is through the "Desert View" or South Rim. Both of these locations are approximately 4 hours from from the cabin. During the open season from May 15 to December 1st we are 2 hours from the north rim.

Other things to note
There is no cell service here on the ranch. You must drive three miles down the road to get cell service, but you can use our land line in case of emergency. We live in a rural area on a ranch and farm and have many animals and pets. Some are penned in and some free-range like our chickens and dogs. You may hear our dogs barking in the middle of the night or a rooster crow. You may hear coyotes laughing and yelping. Our home is located about 100 feet from the cabin and our children often place outside. There is a potential for noise if you are sitting outside but we encourage our children to be quiet and respectful of guests that are outside. We also have a few vehicles outside in the shared parking areas. Please be aware of this. There is also another Airbnb cabin located about 100 feet away from the cabin, although guests have their own firepits and private outdoor spaces We welcome you as our guests and try to be as accommodating as possible. However, farm life happens...:) Please try to be patient if unexpected issues arise during your stay. We are always open for recommendations and comments/suggestions and strive to offer our guests a wonderful experience here.

I am a wife and mother to 4 babes. We live on a ranch on 400 acres in northern Arizona, nestled against a stunning backdrop of red sandstone cliffs. I am a lover of all things organic, beautiful, and delicious. I married the love of my life in Guatemala after working 6 months there in an orphanage (where I learned to speak Spanish fluently.) I have been singing my whole life and love to perform everything from jazz to folk to blues and gospel (I especially love singing in Spanish, French, and Portuguese!) I have been hosting on AirBnB since June 2016 and I love it. It's awesome to be able to provide a clean, comfortable, and peaceful retreat for guests from around the world. It has allowed me to harness all my frustrations from years of staying in cold, cheap hotels, and instead craft a memorable experience for the people who stay with us. One day when my littles are grown I hope to travel around the world and stay only in AirbnB's. :)
