The Space

Located in a lovely row house in leafy University City, West Philadelphia, your own private one-bedroom suite with living/dining room, kitchen, bathroom, and balcony. From the main entrance of the house, you will pass through two common spaces, an art studio/sun porch then a library, then the guest suite begins past a set of double doors. A Wharton PhD student and his wife, a painter, live upstairs with their children.

In addition to the queen-size bed in the bedroom, the suite's living room has an American Leather Comfort Sleeper, a luxurious pull-out queen-size sofa bed (no metal bars) to accommodate two more people. The kitchen is equipped with refrigerator, oven/stove, toaster, microwave, coffee maker, pots and pans, and table settings for four. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and oatmeal are complimentary. There is an Ipod docking alarm clock radio, 22" flat screen TV, ceiling fans, and A/C. A portable crib, high chair and other baby/kids' items are available upon request.

The Pink House is a 15 minute walk to the Penn campus and half a block from the #34 trolley that takes you there in 5 minutes, or to Center City, Philadelphia in 15. Two blocks from Clark Park, with twice-a-week farmers' markets and lots of green space. Many coffee houses, restaurants, and bars in the student and family-friendly neighborhood.

$120/night for one or two adults. Third and fourth adults are $15 per person per night. Children under 16 are free.

COMMENCEMENT: During commencement (usually the second weekend in May) we have a FOUR NIGHT MINIMUM and the rate is $200/night (same rate for 2-4 people). Two-night minimum for holiday weekends. Longer-term rentals considered.

PARKING: Street parking is available in the neighborhood, or rent the driveway for $10 a night.

Please include full name and some information about yourself with all requests to book the suite. Thank you for your interest.

Guest Access

Guests will have their own four-digit entry code, access to the Pink House library, tv & dvd, free wifi, back porch. Parking space available for $10.

Interaction with Guests

We live upstairs so occasionally run into guests coming and going, but we give guests their privacy and autonomy.

The Neighborhood

University City is a uniquely diverse and lively neighborhood of families, students, and young professionals lined with trees and cafes/restaurants/bars/shops. Gorgeous architecture, walkable neighborhood, easy access to the whole city via trolley, subway, and bus.

Getting Around

We live half a block from the 34 trolley that gets you anywhere in the city. Bus and subways lines within a few blocks. Easy to walk and bike around. On-street parking and we also rent our driveway for $10.
