Beautifully renovated mid terrace property with 2 standard double rooms and a gorgeous master room (en-suite). 2 Bathrooms. Stunning views of the River. Railway station 2 minute walk and brings you to Cobh in 3 minutes or to Cork City in 15 minutes.
The space is bright and airy. In pristine condition. Lovely comfortable furnishing and great bedrooms.
Interaction with Guests
I'm very happy to meet and greet my guests when at all possible. If I can't make it a member of my family will be happy to do so.
Cobh is a lovely town with plenty of places to eat or have a few social drinks. A trip to the Heritage Centre is worthwhile. Also you can go on boat trips around the harbour or try out the Titanic Trail. Fota Wildlife park is a 7/8 minute drive or can be accessed by train (almost directly outside the front door). For those who enjoy a night out and don't want to worry about their car, a taxi into Cobh town will cost between 5 and 7 euro.
Rushbrooke Railway station is just two minutes walk from the house bringing you directly to Cobh Heritage Centre (in a couple of minutes) or to Cork City (in 15-20 minutes). The rail links make this house a perfect location for those travelling without a car.
Other Things to Note
There is on-street parking outside the front door or within 30 yards. There is a communal green which can be seen from the back of the house and is immediately accessible down a couple of steps. It's lovely to bring a cup of tea/coffee there and simply enjoy the view.
Rule number 1 - Enjoy your stay:-)
No smoking in the house.
I would really appreciate the following being done before guests leave:
Ensure kitchen is left clear of all dirty dishes etc (ensure dishwasher is NOT turned on as you leave the house as it may be days before I get to clean for next holiday let).
Put all rubbish in the bins provided in the utility area. There is one for recycling and one for general waste. (anything perishable should be left in the fridge)
I would really appreciate all lights and appliances being switched off - EXCLUDING the fridge:-).
Many thanks for your kind co-operation:-)
We had a great experience in Cobh, staying in Liz's house. The house was in a convenient location which enabled us to easily explore Cobh and Cork. I would definitely recommend staying in Liz's house!
Just back from a lovely stay at Liz's cottage. Cottage maybe a misnomer as we had tons of spaces as there was only 2 of us. With 3 bedrooms you could easily fit six. We arrived in the dark but found the place relatively easily. It's a nice walk into Cobh and back out again. I particularly enjoyed taking a shower with a view onto the river as it flows to the see. The house is bright and airy and feels very modern. We had everything we needed although we were out visiting family most days.
Huge kudos to Liz for being so welcoming even from when I first booked! It was my first time using Air n B. And she was so helpful.
The Cobh house was simply incredible! The view was amazing! The town of Cobh was so delightful. And that was further enhanced by the welcoming feeling we got from first walking in the door at Liz's.
I highly recommend this rental but schedule some extra time for down time in her wonderful house. We were moving too fast but would love to schedule a future trip just to hang out.
Book here you won't regret it!
Liz met us at her house and showed us around. Her house is simply gorgeous, with a beautiful layout that boasts lovely water views. There is even access to a little private park where you can feed the swans who come in nightly with the tide. We had more than enough space for our family of four, and I couldn't recommend this house enough. You can walk into the town of Cobh in about 25-30 minutes, it's a pleasant walk and you can watch the ships sail in to town. You're also close to Fota Wildlife Park, which is a brilliant place to take children. We stayed at this house for 6 nights and had a wonderful experience overall.
My family and me had a great time in Liz's house. It was cosy with plenty of room for the four of us. Everything worked perfectly and Liz and her mom were kind and helpful all the (website hidden)'s totally worth it, great experience for us.
I just returned home from a ten day driving tour of Ireland. I traveled with my boyfriend (mid 40s) his mother (mid 60s), his sister (early 40s), and my father (mid 50s). They left the lodging to me (early 30s) - I always make the plans. I have good taste, I have experience in the hospitality industry, and they trust me. But that doesn't mean I don't still get nervous when given the responsibility of arranging the accommodations...
Our first three nights were spent at this spacious, clean, warm, row home in Cobh. I would describe this house as a well of natural light. Every room had beautiful sun absorbing windows and skylights. And every window, including the sky lights, had a shade - making privacy simple and convenient. I should also mention that the kitchen was very easy to navigate - we made breakfast every morning. From Cobh, we were able to drive to all of our must-visit towns and must-see sites, like Blarney Castle, Charles Fort, Kinsale, Cork, Waterford, Jameson Distillery (and more) - all within a reasonable amount of travel time. Liz was wonderful to work with from the very start. Eileen was a helpful source as well - she gave us some great tour info.
We left Cobh and headed for Dublin feeling rested, relaxed, and recharged. I give this house my highest recommendation for accommodations near Cork, CO Cork.
My family and I had a fantastic stay at Liz's house in Cobh.
Communication with Liz was quick and easy pre-stay and she was very helpful with local places to visit and pubs to have a drink in. She was unable to meet us herself but arranged for her lovely brother to let us in and show us around upon arrival.
The house is absolutely gorgeous! An old terrace house which has had a full renovation with beautiful furniture and everything you could possibly need for a short or long stay. We met the neighbours while enjoying the communal soccer pitch and my daughters had a great time learning the art of Hurling and having an Ireland v Australia soccer match!
The bedrooms all had big comfortable beds and the 2 bathrooms were ideal for a group of 6. The kitchen is fully equipped and the laundry has a washer dryer in one which is really convenient when travelling and being out of the house all day.
Cobh is a quiet town with a few good pubs. The cathedral is beautiful. The train station is a few minutes walk away from the house and it was a quick and easy 20 minute ride into Cork city.
I would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone visiting the area.
