Located in historic South End's Wilmore neighborhood, this 1920s three bedroom, two bath bungalow gives visitors easy access to South End's diverse bars, restaurants and other cultural sites.
The house features a large backyard with a huge stone patio and built-in grill -- perfect for entertaining. Two bedrooms contain queen-size beds and the third bedroom has a queen sleeper sofa. There are also two additional large sofas in the living room. The living room and one bedroom each have a wood-burning fireplace. For gym buffs, there's a flat bench with a loaded barbell in the basement.
This house is less than one mile from Uptown Charlotte where you will find NBA and NFL venues, the NASCAR Hall of Fame, countless nightlife and restaurant options, etc.
From the house, it's a 10 minute walk to the East Blvd. light rail station (train to Uptown), 15 minute walk to Bank of America Stadium (NFL Panthers) plus you are in the middle of South End's diverse arts and gallery scene. Also, the well-known Dilworth neighborhood is less than a mile away. 10 minute drive to Charlotte-Douglas International Airport.
Guests tell us that they love the character, spaciousness, huge backyard patio and proximity of the house to nightlife. Convenient location with access to everything that's great about Charlotte!d
Please no smoking inside the house. You may smoke on the back patio or front porch. Also, the fireplaces are original coal fireplaces and no longer work. Please don't start a fire in any of the fireplaces! They do not function and you will have smoke/fire inside the house and attic. If you set the alarm to "stay" and then open the basement door (from within the house) then the alarm will go off. Just enter the disarm code if this happens. Other than that, enjoy your stay!
Don’t bother looking for a better home in the Charlotte area, you won’t find it. This house was perfect for our boys weekend. Michael was more than accommodating and gave us great tips for restaurants and night life. The house is in great condition with a beautiful kitchen and outdoor space. I highly recommend staying here.
I just stayed in this beautiful 1920s home with my family for the weekend and we could not be more satisfied! The house is actually quite large, the main living room has a huge couch that can accommodate 10+ people. The kitchen is also spacious with plenty of seating. The eight of us actually spent most of our time out back on the patio which overlooks a lush backyard complete with gardens and chickens! The location is also quite ideal, downtown Charlotte is about a mile away where one can find lots of bars and restaurants to choose from. The house is also in close proximity to a shopping center along with great restaurants and pubs. If we head back to Charlotte again with a big group we will definitely be staying here!
We had a large group of ladies who wanted to be able to stay together instead of renting several hotel rooms Uptown. This home was perfect! We were able to save money by using the awesome kitchen to cook and everything we needed was there. They even left fruit and cereal on the counter for us to enjoy. The outdoor space was wonderful and we were able to walk to the light rail to enjoy the St. Patty's Day festivities. My sister's bachelorette weekend went off with out a hitch! I would highly recommend this home as a rental. Oh! and there was enough hot water for 8 girls to shower and get ready! Thanks so much for letting us stay in your home!
Myself and 7 friends/colleagues stayed at Michael's place for the 2014 CIAA events. I can't say enough about how impressed we were with the house and the kindness of our hosts. We arrived in town earlier than expected and his kind wife accommodated us by checking us in early! She met us at the house to give us a tour and we couldn't believe how spacious it was. And they put in an extra bed before our arrival to meet our needs! Checking in and out was so easy that it felt like we just stayed the weekend at some friends house. The house has great taste and such a unique character that my friends and I found ourselves just walking around admiring the place. And the backyard patio was the perfect place for us to have a cigar and scotch. Michael and Noelle are awesome hosts. If I ever make it back to Charlotte their place will be first on my list for a place to stay!!! I highly recommend them to anyone :-)
Beautiful house . . . very well equipped kitchen, and an easy 20 minute stroll to the convention center. Lots of fun and funky restaurants a few blocks in the other direction as well. One couple and three singles were very comfortable for the week. And the huge shower in the master bathroom is a definite plus.
Also, Michael was super easy to work with and very accommodating. He even brought us a propane tank when we discovered it was empty just as we were about to put dinner on the grill.
We had a great stay with Michael. He was more than willing to accommodate our flexible arrival plans and the place was great for a summer BBQ and enjoying Charlotte.
Bachelor party in Charlotte. Michael's place was excellent. Comfortably slept 9 of us. Great back patio which we used to grill and hang out. Nice big table in the kitchen so we were all able to eat together. Very short cab ride to Uptown. Would definitely use again.
