Winnie was a great host and the apartment was lovely.
The apartment is in a great location close to Republique and Jacques Bonsergent metro stops. Also near the Canal St Martin.
I would recommend the apartment, particularly for single person or couples looking for a lovely place to stay.
Host was well organized, apartment is in a great location, but (and generally don't say this) I would not recommend this apartment.
Short story: The apartment is over priced, not very comfortable and not well appointed (eg, you'll find exactly two coffee mugs, I bought my own toaster).
The apt was quite cold (the toilette especially!) and I was not provided instructions on how to use the main heater until I complained about the cold.
The main living area is really missing a couch. There is no place to sit and relax comfortably, other than the bed. Half of the furniture was either broken, half broken or labeled with a sticker that said "Careful Very Fragile". When I tried to raise the curtains over the main room's windows they fell off the wall. When I stood on a chair to put them back up, the chair nearly collapsed.
Overall, you can find MUCH nicer apartments for a much lower price. I hate to say this, but I cannot recommend this place.
I m terribly sorry that you didn't enjoyed your experience with my flat. But I would have thought that we over come the cold issue pretty quickly as you called me within the 12 hours following your check in. There were also 6 full sets on dishes/cutlery etc but may be they were not visible enough...However I took your comment well in consideration, and make sure that things are more visible and change a couple of others. I apologize again for the Parisian antique deco lifestyle that didn't suit you.
Staying at Winnie's beautiful flat was the perfect experience. Not only has Winnie decorated it beautifully with a mixture of antique pieces and modern art, but it is also comfortable, clean, and perfectly located in the hip area of Canal St. Martin. Winnie was wonderful at communicating and incredibly flexible in arranging check-in when we were very late, our original flight to Paris having been cancelled (and then our replacement one further delayed). She also kindly allowed us a flexible check-out, which was highly appreciated so that we didn't have to carry our suitcases around Paris all afternoon. An all around positive experience. Highly recommended!
Winnie was a perfect host. Very quick to respond to enquiries and has her own (website hidden) feed for Paris tips. The flat is excellently located really close to Republique for bars, and the Gare du Nord for Eurostar. It was also very clean, tidy and comfortable enough for two people. Despite the cold outside there were enough heaters to keep us warm when we were in. Good value.
Winnie's place is in a great part of town, very close to the canal. She's very responsive and great with help / communication. Check-in / check-out was really easy. Very authentic Parisian flat and experience!
The flat is on a great street - probably my favourite area of Paris. Really great restaurants and shops etc.
The flat itself is very quiet and was clean and tidy when we got there. Winnie was quite responsive whenever we had a question. The flat is a decent size (although the bedroom is a bit small!), without any particular view.
Overall a decent experience - thank you Winnie!
This is the second time I've stayed at Winnie's flat in Paris. It is a great flat and perfectly located near Gare du Nord and based in the heart of Canal St Martin. Winnie's housekeeper met us on arrival and handed over the keys and there are really helpful notes throughout the flat. We really enjoyed the notebook full of recommendations. The flat is very clean and has plenty of space. I would definitely stay here again.
