Southern most settlement on Victoria 's scenic Mornington Peninsula , Portsea has become a popular holiday destination. Most of the holiday makers come during the summer months to escape the hussle and bussle of nearby Melbourne (100 km away).
Portsea has been described as "exclusive" and the "preferred holiday destination of Melbournes ' elite" however this sleepy little seaside town of 550 permanent residents have something for most tastes.
From the always lively "Portsea Pub", which has become an icon in its own rite, to the rugged windswept coast line, which feature the world famous "London Bridge" rock formation (no so much a bridge these days!), It's a great place to spend a couple of days resting and relaxing.
Portsea front beach is overlooked by the Portsea Hotel, and plays host to the rugged open ocean, ideal for surfing and the regular iron man competitions. Other events of note on the Portsea calandar include the Portse Pro-Am Classic, the Pier to Pub Swim, the Portsea Swim Classic, the Melbourne to Hobart and Melbourne to Davenport Yacht Races.

Great property and was close to both the back beach and portsea pub. Very happy with our experience.
We arrived late on a Friday night to a very clean home: 10/10 to Troy for a well-presented package in Portsea. During the day Troy stayed in contact via SMS which was re-assuring. Nothing seemed to be too much of a problem for him. He even came up with the address of the nearest car wash for us.
We would have no hesitation in booking or recommending this nice quiet address on the Mornington Peninsula.
The property description most definitely met our expectations, Troy was a great host and was very helpful prior to and during our stay. The house was a in a great location within walking distance to both Portsea and Sorrento and contained everything we needed.
I would definitely return in the future.
Communication with Troy was above and beyond. He made us feel completely welcome in his home, and we had a great stay. The house was bright and airy with modern decor, and there was plenty of space for all of us to stay. We had 6 adults, and 2 kids, so were a little bit worried that there was only one bathroom, but it was easier than expected to manage. The kitchen was well equipped and we found everything we needed to have a great vacation. The neighborhood is very quiet, and close to everything. It is perfectly situated between both sides of the bay, and was less than 5 minutes from beaches. We had one evening in and ended up playing a 5 hour game of 1983 Trivial Pursuit! It was hilarious, since it was the NZ/Oz version and we were mostly Americans. We loved our stay, and should we return to the Peninsula, we will definitely look at staying in Troy's beautiful home again!
What a brilliant house and a magic location close to everything.
Troy is a great host and communication was excellent leading up to and during our stay.
My daughter was getting married in Sorrento, so Troy was good enough to let the wedding party stay the night before and then our family stayed for 3 nights after the wedding.
The location was perfect and it was just what we needed for 10 adults and 2 babies.
Highly recommend Troy and his Portsea Getaway
Troy was very accommodating leading up to our arrival with relevant information etc. The neighbourhood was quiet and provided a lovely surrounding for our stay. A Portsea Getaway was perfect accommodation for myself and my family who were attending a wedding at the Portsea Hotel :)
