Luba is a very nice and accommodating host. We really appreciate she let my mother-in-law have the second room, instead of sleeping in the living room. We have a perfect weekend at Salts Spring Island and our stay at Luba's quiet and peaceful home is certainly one of the highlights.
Stayed 5 nights at Luba's place. I don't have a car, but was still easy to find the place. Luba spotted me and gave me a lift on her way home. Both bedroom and bathroom are clean and spacious. The neighbourhood was quiet. The dining, sitting and kitchen area are free to use and with some of her beautiful mosaic works as decorations . Sitting on the deck, overlooking the lake, sipping the tea, listening to the sounds of birds, it was relaxing and calm.
The pillows and mattress are nice, I caught up with most of the sleepless nights during the stay after the long haul flight and time difference. My jet lag was gone. Never in short of towels and toiletries, even hand cream and toner are provided.
The kitchen is full of healthy ingredients and Luba is a good cook. She cooked me a delicious dinner on one night and we had a great evening.
The natural surroundings and atmosphere of her place are simple with characters, always gave me unexpected happiness. On a Saturday noon, after returning from the Saturday market, sitting in the kitchen, enjoying the juice and chips, looking outside, an adult deer was walking slowly right in front of path. When I told this incident to Luba, she joked whether I had choked myself. Luba is an excellent host and has good sense of humor.
As a lone traveller, She always took care of me and gave me space when I needed it. I never felt bored because Luba always listens and I enjoyed her countryside stories as well.
On the last day. She drove me to the downtown and I wish I could stay for a month.
I would highly recommend her place.
Luba is a wonderful host who made me feel very welcome in her very clean and cozy home. Although she had to work a lot during my stay we still had time to talk together. It was a great experience. She made my stay even better by lighting the log fire before I got up in the morning.
Luba is a warm, kind, welcoming host. The room is lovely and Luba's house is peaceful & quiet. From the living room you look out to a beautiful view of St. Mary Lake. In April I could hear frogs croaking, sometimes an owl hooting at night, all while enjoying the warmth & dancing flames of the fireplace. I spent a very comfortable & relaxing week at Luba's over Easter, and look forward to returning. Highly recommended!
It is a very nice place and was a great stay here. Thank you so much for hospitality . We stayed for 3 nights. Room was clean and comfortable, Luba was really friendly. Our daughter had a great time with her. Highly recommended, We plan to go back again in summer.
Luba lives right on a beautiful lake in the middle of a forested area. We enjoyed morning coffee and some breakfast out on the deck overlooking the lake and it was awesome.
Before we arrived, Luba kept in contact with us and made sure we knew what to do if we arrived when she wasn't home. When we arrived she greeted us and gave us the tour and made us feel instantly at home and comfortable! The house and room were very clean and it was so nice to have her cat hanging around :)
The hike into town is about an hour and it's a very beautiful hike with good trails for some of it. Luba also gave us lots of info for hiking around the lake, though we didn't have a chance to get to that. Thanks Luba!
