The place was beautiful with great with of the rice fields. We walked along the water in to center of Sanur. Nice if you want to be a bit away and explore. Kadek, his family and his staff were friendly and helped us out. Would also advised asking Kadek about his tours and things to do! The room was cozy, loved the bathroom with shower outside and the deck for reading and relaxing. A great start to our trip to Bali, gently settling in and a lot of good places to eat in Sanur.

Had a nice stay for just one night in this place. Great location a little tucked away from the touristy part of sanur. Had a little bit of trouble as maps took me to the wrong location and I was unable to initially get a hold of the host. Also found some spiders in my room, and the hosts were very nice about cleaning for me. The next morning, kadeks mother packed me a breakfast for the road which was very sweet!

Hi Sherry! Maps in Bali is still beta, and it likes to send you down "legal" roads that have not yet been formed or sealed! Luckily I keep my eyes in the road when I use maps as they've tried to send me into rivers and streams at times ;-) We provide our guests with clear driving directions in English as well as Bahasa Indonesia, to make it easier to share the information with a taxi driver. Nevertheless do note that we recommend guests arrive in daylight hours. This is a home, not a hotel :-) Mum enjoyed looking after you! Safe travels and many happy returns, Kadek

I got a warm welcome from Kadek and Sarita, though Sarita pretty much took over from there. I have to say the best thing about my stay was her friendliness and the food, which is truly awesome, a sort of Balinese fusion cuisine. Her cook should definitely give cooking lessons...! Otherwise the highlight was the pool which is shady and of a good size. There are creepy crawlies, but they confine themselves to the bathroom, so it's not too bad, and to be expected in an open setting in the tropics. It could be a tad tidier, but it's all part of the laid-back feel to the place. Thanks again, Sarita, for making my stay so relaxing, just what I needed after a long haul flight!

Great to hear you managed to catch up on your much needed sleep. Do note that AirBnB is about space sharing... This particular listing is for one of the rooms in our home, and our concept of tidiness is more Wabi-Sabi (as-it-is) then Zen (pristine). There are other listings for entire villas if you need more privacy.

It's a very rustic and pretty place. Aircon was broken when we were there. Wifi is good. Not as clean as in the photos but not unhygienic. The family is very friendly and kind. Definitely walk the beach at sunrise, that was my highlight.

We LOVED staying with Kadek and his mother Sarita. Their place is really wonderful. We had stayed in 3 other airbnb places in Bali and left our last 4 days open. Kadek responded right away to my request and was awesome about answering my many questions as I wanted our last 4 days in Bali to be perfect. He sent directions in English and Indonesian which helped a lot as their place was a bit hard to find in the dark. The room is wonderful - breakfast great and the whole family is super sweet. You can ask in the morning to have a traditional dinner made that night and we really enjoyed doing that one night, and eating with the family. Sarita's daughter took me to a yoga class the first morning we were there - that was great!! They are super helpful and generous. Great experience staying there. Their pool is nice and refreshing. The sitting area - living room is open on 3 sides and the view of the rice fields is magnificent. Bikes for about $2 a day made the 15 min ride into Sanur really easy! The beach out front is a 5 min walk through a rice field and you can swim there - but I preferred to ride down to the hotels and rent a beach chair for the day. A great experience. Highly recommended.

We got into Denpasar on New Yesr s Eve and we were really pleased to have a driver waiting for us at the airport Prearranged by Kadek . Other people were waiting in a long line for a taxi and we were able to walk straight through. ( a big thanks to Kadek) . We also purchased sim and data for 170,000 ( told later a little expensive but we are happy with it and it has worked everywhere in Ind even on Gilis and mountains in Lombok) The house is in Sanur , 2 paddy fields from the beach. The beaches here are black sand do don't come expecting to see the white sandy beaches advertised in travel brochures. ( you get these on Gili). Sanur is quieter and cleaner than Kuta. Go to Kuta if you want night life and dirty beaches along with street vendors who constantly hassle you. Street Market along sea front walk in Sanur quite cheap but checkout prices in supermarkets in centre of Sanur first if you are not sure. The house is a family house , kadek's mum is an expat New Zealander and very helpful. They rent out several rooms. Ours was near the pool with very good AC. The bathroom is outside and we were not sure if we shared it with others or not as there was a door to the outside as well as into our room and as someone tried to come in while we were in there we were careful to leave it open when we had finished. The room was really clean with very good mosquito nets. Nice view onto paddy fields from terrace and room when you open the double doors. A beautiful garden and pool really good. Need a lot of insect repellant for outside but this is true of everywhere in Bali. ( large sized ystripy white ones carry Yellow fever ) As it is a family home there is a lot of life and if you are traveling with kids this could be very good . You also get free access to the kitchen which is a nice change from other airbnbs in Indonesia which advertise as an Airbnb but are hotels with their own restaurant. It would be nice to find shower gel and shampoos provided but I mentioned this when I was there and they said they would look into it. Having travelled since around Bali /Gili/Lombok some provide and some don't. One thing you need here is transport , either hire a scooter (50,000) or a driver (40 to 50$ for a day out) . It takes 15mins to walk to Sanur along sea front. A nice place to relax in away from busy Kuta and Semynak Count approx 250,000 for airport pick up. Wifi connexion better than any others we have found here ! Really good coffee , they grind it themselves !

Amazing place in sanur. It was the perfect choice for us, quiet and welcoming. Since it was Christmas we got lucky and meet several members of Kadek's lovely family. the house and it's surrondings are incredibly beatiful and whitin a short distance of the beach and city center. Thank you very much!

Born and raised in Bali, I pursued tertiary education in New Zealand and Canada and returned to Bali in 2005. I manage Bali Eco Tours, and initially set up this AirBnB account to help my mum (born in NZ, has lived in Bali for over 40 years) get guests for her BnB. I slowly added other holiday homes around Bali belonging to our friends and family, and now have quite a portfolio.
