I stayed at Delia's while on a relatively long (over 2 month) sabbatical visit at the UoM (it was my first Air BnB experience). Delia is professional and efficient but more importantly for someone staying as long as I have, exuberantly hospitable. In my books, Delia's hosting ( in greek one would use the good word "philoxenia") was exemplary. Her house offers everything one would need to feel at home (cudos for the great kitchen, inviting one to try her/his cooking skills) and if one is lucky as I was and is hosted concurrently with other good guests, the atmosphere becomes wonderful. Grisha,  Delia's youngest son, who occasionally visits, is also great and very helpful when needed. The pets deserve special mention: The dog, Charlie, is incredible, and so are the impressive, superfriendly cats (I should point out that I am more fond of dogs rather than cats, but if it were not for Charlie who kept reminding me of that,  I would have changed my mind. ) Practicalities: The neighborhood is very pleasant and quite scenic. If you don't gave a car, the house is ideal for conducting business at the St paul campus since it is walking distance away, but essentially the same holds for the minneapolis campus, since there is the (free) UM Connector bus stop at about 1km away and the bus ride from there is about 15mins. When the weather gets rough (since I stayed from November till the middle of December, there were such times), it takes 3 mins to walk to the bus #3 stop that takes you downtown via the minneapolis campus . There is a convenient albeit somewhat expensive small market 15 mins away that has pretty much everything and is open till late and on weekends. If you gave a car, parking is not a problem. Another bus leaving from a stop also 3min away rakes you to the Rosedale mall. I occupied the ground floor room which is very good, the bed very comfortable and large, the walk-in closet perfect for suitcases and storage and the bathroom really large. All amenities are provided and of high quality. The house is well heated. I was working in the common areas without being disturbed. Delia's office is located on the same floor and she is almost always available to help with newcomer queries. I am also grateful to her for driving me to supermarkets and various shops at the mall.  Because of her interior design business, she had to visit sites at the beautiful lakeshores. I was delighted when  she offered  to take me along which was a great opportunity for me to see the area. When I was reading reviews of the house, it was interesting to see that there were several positive ones written by guests from outside the US. Indeed, it became clear to me seeing her in action that Delia is also very good at making international visitors feel at home. In summary, Delia's is a great...

Response from Delia:
Strati: Thank you for the kind words. Got to say though, that it is difficult not to be friendly with somebody like you. Friendship is a 2 way street! You are such a amazing person, and the mix we had of you and Jan and Hoa was like the best cocktail we could have aver asked for. I will remember all 3 of you for the rest of my life! The music and the conversations and the dinners together. You all made the last 3 months go so quickly and the beginning of the Winter went unnoticed! We had joy, we had fun, we had seasons in the sun But the hills that we climbed were just seasons out of time We had joy, we had fun, we had seasons in the sun But the wine and the song like the seasons have all gone We had joy, we had fun, we had seasons in the sun But the wine and the song like the seasons have all gone We had joy, we had fun, we had seasons in the sun But the wine and the song like the seasons have all gone Sing the song! Remember always! Love Delia.

We booked the suite last minute after staying in Minneapolis an extra night. Delia was very helpful in accomodating our late booking and arrival! She was extremely welcoming, showing us around her house and making sure we had everything we needed before leaving us to our room to sleep. The room was comfortable, with a beautiful bathroom area connected just for us to use. We were very comfortable and wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the place.

Delia, thank you so much for hosting me. I very appreciate you accommodated my irregular schedule. I am very happy to come back to visit UMN and found the neighborhood remains same, peaceful and friendly. Your hospitality also made my visit very enjoyable. I wish Grisha (sorry if my spelling is not correct) and Charlie will do well soon. And all the best to others in the family. -xianfeng

I was made to feel very welcome by Delia and her family. The room was very comfortable and the bed sheets are some of softest I have slept on .

I had a great time at Delia's place and she was a wonderful host during my three month stay in Minneapolis. Her house is in walkable distance to the UoM St. Paul Campus or Campus Connector to get to the Minneapolis Campus. I had a very nice and clean bedroom with walk-in closet and own bathroom. The two dogs and cats she has are very trusting and friendly and a big part of the daily life. I had a great time and it felt like a second home. Thank you.
