The Space

Comfortable apartment in the center of florence.
Big living room with huge couch that turns into a comfortable double bed.
Big table for amazing dinners....
Big and comfortable bedroom with double bed.
One big bathroom with shower and a washing machine.
A small kitchen provided with electric stove and fridge.
Wi-fi is provided.
The area is very quiet and with lots of shops and restaurants, and a supermarket very near. It's located just in front of the police station, so it's very safe, especially when coming back home late after a night out.
Near all the main touristic attractions, it's just a 10 minutes walk from the Duomo, and a 5 minutes walk to Piazza San Marco, which has all the bus stops you will need to go to such places as Fiesole, or Piazzale Michelangelo.
For the people who come with a car, there is a parking lot 5 minutes from the house, that costs 20 euros per night.
Just the perfect place to stay during your vacation in Florence!

  • We stayed in Luca's spacious apartment for a week in June 2014 and really enjoyed the place. It's clean, centrally located (yet quiet), and feels very safe. Luca could not greet us in person upon arrival but had arranged everything dutifully. We'd come back any time!

PS We checked out very breakfast places in the neighborhood and would recommend Caffè Cavour around the corner ((website hidden))

  • We had a wonderful time in Florence -- and this was no doubt facilitated by the great location of this flat, which was just about 20 minutes away from everything. We had a bit of difficulty finding the place, as Florence distinguishes between residential and commercial properties in their address numbering. Luca was very nice and accommodated our schedule as it changed. The apartment itself is structurally very beautiful, with tile floors and large windows. However, the furnishings left a bit to be desired. The bed was uncomfortable and not dressed with an attractive, white duvet, but with a less than romantic plaid sheet. Serviceable, yes. Desirable, eh. The coffee accoutrement was very old and somewhat corroded. And the attractive little espresso cups from the picture were not to be found. The apartment has also been repainted since the photos were taken -- instead of white, there is now a generic, hand-painted "Tuscan" motif in both the kitchen and bathroom, which darkens and clutters the space. (I am a foe of all things faux, so I sort of despised it.) Lastly, the sewer smell. There is this sulfuric odor emanating from the bathroom that permeates the flat. Now, that said, most of Florence has this unfortunate scent, so I suppose it is what it is. But it did make spending time in the apartment difficult. As other posters iterated, this is not exactly the place to pick for a romantic stay in Florence. The sad thing is, it very well could be, if some steps were taken to make the apartment a bit more comfortable.

    Response from Luca:

Dear Sunnylee, thank you for your feedback and I will respond to your points:

    1) You obviously didn't see it, but on the itinerary I clearly say not to stop at the red number 78, but to keep on walking until you find black 78.
    2) As for the bed, as you can read in reviews, the majority of people say that it's comfortable.
    3) next time let's do this: you let me know what color you like a week before and I will make sure to have the sheet of that color! Really? I don't see anything wrong in a plaid sheet, I find that putting a duvet on June 21st, the day that summer starts, would be "a bit" too warm....
    4) It's your problem if you don't like "faux" things, not mine. The paintings in the kitchen and bathroom are awesome
    5) the smell is a very occasional thing, that doesn't depend on me, there was an air freshener in the bathroom, just spray it a couple of times and the smell magically disappears

  • We spent only one night in Luca's apartment, on a quick stop-over from the Chianti region before taking our flight back to London. The flat is on a very convenient location, close enough that the main sights are a short walk away but far enough that the streets are not really crowded with tourists - there is also a 24h parking lot close by where you can park your car safely.

Luca was a great host, he is very friendly and nice to deal with, which makes it a pleasure staying at his flat. Thanks Luca!

  • Luca's apartment was a terrific and comfortable place. It was spacious, clean, and well located. We were able to walk to all of the attractions we wanted to see and there was a taxi stand just a few blocks away for when we needed a quicker mode of transport. The street on which the apartment is located has many cafes and restaurants and is easy to follow all the way into the heart of Florence. Luca himself was very friendly and helpful. I would certainly stay here again on my next visit to Florence. Highly recommended.

  • Just back from a flying visit to Florence, we stayed with Luca in this fabulous apartment. The apartment is very central, extremely spacious and had everything one could need. Luca met us with the keys on Monday evening and was very helpful with restaurant recommendations, directions to various sites and even called a taxi for us to the train station when we were leaving. We would really love to have stayed longer but we plan to return to Florence again soon and when we do we hope to be able to stay here.
