Located in Alfama, historical heart of Lisbon, on the route of the famous tram 28, an authentic Portuguese experience in an 18th century Pombaline home with magnificent "azulejos" (tiles) and incredible terrace.

Four original rooms with ecological mattresses for maximum 5 people.

The space
Carefully restored 100m2 apartment with an exceptionally big private 115m2 terrace. Ideally located for all main sites to visit. You will be amazed by the charm of its interior. With luggage you'll appreciate it's on the 1st floor.

Your rooms have original decorations from the family who lived there since the 1920s. The beds are 140X200 and 150X200 and have new, ecological, high quality mattresses (soy thread, natural latex) and natural kapok pillows. We provide luxury Egyptian cotton sheets and towels from the best Portuguese brands, bought in small Lisbon stores.

The main bathroom has a big bath with shower, a sink and a toilet. The tiny shower room (2m2) has a shower, a sink and a toilet and is not en suite (it is behind the kitchen, check the floor plan in the pictures).

The living room does not have a couch area as we know it today. It was set up like this when we bought the apartment (1930s furniture) and we keep it that way, also because we are very fond of our De Coene table and chairs.

Guest access
You have private access to the kitchen, living room, the huge terrace, one big bathroom, a small shower room and 4 bedrooms.

Other things to note
We go for an authentic experience with little electrics so we have no:
- espresso machine but a Bialetti pot you put on the gas stove or a French press
- dishwasher
- central heating but use heaters in every room (as did grandma when she lived here)

We go for ecological options including zero waste products so we use no toilet fresheners, no small plastic shampoo or shower bottles etc.

We provide:
- natural shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, cotton swabs, make up pads
- a basic breakfast: variety of teas & coffees, cacao, cereals, (soy) milk, orange juice

We need your arrival time as we do not provide:
- self check in
- hotel type reception service

You couldn't get any better neighborhood. You are at the historical heart at its best, next to the cathedral, the castle and the best viewpoint of town. In the oldest district of Lisbon, Alfama, just beside the shopping area and all major attractions, an ideal walk to the going out areas and upcoming artist neighborhoods.
