The houseboat is in the heart of Amsterdam’s Jordaan, offering a peaceful stay in a vibrant central location.

It has two private 16 m² guest studios, each with its own entrance from a shared hallway, private bathroom, toilet, and compact kitchenette. I live on board in a separate private section of the boat.

The Anne Frank House, Noordermarkt and Haarlemmerstraat are just minutes away.

Large sliding windows open fully with beautiful canal views, but built-in shades ensure privacy and comfort.

The space
Olivia is a charming houseboat in a prime Jordaan location, thoughtfully designed to make the most of space, light and comfort. Named after my youngest daughter, she was launched in Amsterdam’s canals in 2016.

The studio may be compact at 16 m², but the large sliding windows create a bright and spacious feel while offering beautiful canal views. The comfortable king-size box bed provides a cosy retreat, and from your bed you can watch life on the water drift by.

A smart kitchenette includes an espresso machine, kettle, microwave and fridge—perfect for breakfast or enjoying treats from the many excellent cafés, bakeries and restaurants just around the corner.

Guest access
The entrance to the houseboat is shared by guests of both studios as well as myself. We kindly ask you to keep noise to a minimum when entering and when closing doors, in order to respect the calm atmosphere on board.
You enter the houseboat from the street side using a code. This means you can check in at any time after 13:00. If you would like to drop off your luggage earlier, this is also possible, as I live on board myself.

From the entrance hall, it is just a few steps to the door of your apartment, which opens with the same code as the main entrance.

The houseboat is not wheelchair accessible.

We do have a second studio available, so it is possible to accommodate up to 4 guests in total when both studios are booked together.

Moored on one of the most beautiful canals in Amsterdam, the Brouwersgracht, in one of Amsterdam’s most desirable areas, the Jordaan district, you will have the best of the city at your fingertips. Quaint cafes, fabulous restaurants, an incredible array of food specialty shops, and Amsterdam’s oldest movie theater - this is where most Amsterdammers wish they could live! The Jordaan was originally home to the working class Dutch, and since 2009, neighborhood has been a part of the UNESCO designated World Heritage Site. You’ll be able to wander down the cobblestone streets and feel history come alive. The Anne Frank house is just up the Prinsengracht canal. The Dutch East India Company headquarters are right around the corner. This was Rembrandt’s old neighborhood, and those with an artistic eye will be captivated by the picturesque surroundings.

I am a a 41-year old freelance chef who lives on this beautiful houseboat in Amsterdam. As well as a chef I am also a teacher in our own language. I have a 5-year old daughter who stays at my place for about half of the time. I love to make roadtrips including lots of food experiences. My favourite places to go are the USA and the southern part of Europe. I love Italy, France and Spain.
