In the Santa Cruz Mountains

Our custom built guesthouse was completed in 2016. It is situated on 5 redwood-covered acres, 10 minutes south of Los Gatos and 20 minutes from Santa Cruz. We have easy access to hiking and biking trails, world-class wine-tasting, microbreweries, shops, amazing dining, and more! There is something for everyone in our area! We are surrounded by a 35 acre tree farm, so it's very private, yet close to the silicon valley!
Our property has a standby generator so we are not affected by power outages.

The space
There is a comfortable queen size bed in the loft bedroom.
The super cozy living room has a daybed with a high quality mattress and a window seat that easily be made in to a bed (Twin sized mattress). The window seat is great for lounging, reading, relaxing, and watching the redwoods!!
Full bathroom with tub, washer, and dryer.
Full kitchen with coffee-maker, toaster, microwave and all major appliances (no dishwasher)
Coffee, tea, hot cocoa, oatmeal, granola bars, sugar, basic spices, olive oil provided.
Towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, and hair dryer provided.

Please feel free to enjoy and wander every part of our property, but if you reach a gate or a fence, that is our neighbors' tree-farm which is private property.

Other things to note
In 2018 we installed a standby generator on our property. This means our guests will not be affected by any power outage in the area. The generator comes on automatically when there is a power outage, and we can run all appliances, lights etc . It is not uncommon to be without power for days in the Santa Cruz mountains either due to stormy weather or a forced utility blackout. This forces many airbnb owners to cancel their reservations but with the generator we are able to have light, heat, and internet and continue on with our lives as usual.
In a case of several days of an outage, we may ask you if it's ok to turn it off for a few hours at night.

We do have a small dog and 3 kitties in our house and on the property. They love to be petted, but are not allowed to enter the guesthouse, so there should be no pet allergens. We also have s few chickens, and if you would like some fresh eggs, we will happily share. (sometimes they are on strike in the winter though)

2 grocery stores nearby, a post office, and Nonno's, a fantastic wood fired pizza/bocciball restaurant!
We are close to great hiking trails, breweries and many award winning wineries - Loma Prieta Winery, Wright Station, Villa Del Monte, Silver Mountain, David Bruce, Byington, Burrell School, etc

Also, great access to many golf courses around the Bay Area - Pasatiempo, Delavega, Pebble Beach, Spyglass Hill, Poppy Hills, Bayonnet GC and many more. All within an hour's drive.

My husband Eric and I have travelled all over the world racing mountain bikes and seen some amazing places and met a lot of great people. Now we would like to share our beautiful guesthouse and amazing location in the Santa Cruz mountains with others who are exploring the world or just looking for a quite and relaxing weekend getaway. Out of all the incredible places we have been to, our home is still one of our favorites. We love to ride our bikes and hike near our home with our young son!
