About this listing
Full apartment over a working pottery and glass studio in the heart of Willamette Valley Wine Country.
Spectacular view of Mt Hood, Mt Jefferson and Willamette Valley. Birdwatcher's paradise.
Sleeps four people, one king size bed and two twin beds. The area with the king size bed has air conditioning. The rest of the apartment does not. There are really not many days in this area when the nights stay uncomfortably warm. There is a full kitchen, one bath, deck.
Dead-end gravel road approx. 40 miles south of Portland between McMinnville and Salem. Very quiet. Two night minimum with special price by the week.
No internet or cable. There is a TV which gets good reception from Portland area stations. Also VHS and DVD players with a fairly large selection of tapes and DVDs.
We are surrounded by wineries. Tasting room hours vary but you can usually find many open every day.
There is a small country store 6 miles from us. West Salem is 12 miles away. We are 10 miles from Amity and Dayton, 16 miles from McMinnville and aprox 60 miles from the Oregon Coast at Lincoln City.
We are a PET FREE accommodation. Please don't ask us to make an exception.
Check-in time is 2PM or anytime after that. No problem getting here later in the afternoon or evening. Just let us know when you're 5-10 minutes away and we will meet you at the apartment. If we don't have someone coming in the same day as you are leaving, later check-out is usually fine.
Please write if you have questions about the area.
We would also appreciate it if you would take the time to write something about yourself on your member page. I do not approve requests until I have heard from you or can read recommendations from other hosts. Thanks!!
Interaction with Guests
We always try to be at the apartment to greet guests. Sometimes we don't see people for the rest of their stay.
A car is a necessity. We are 10-12 miles from the nearest towns.
We expect guests to observe check in and out times unless special arrangements have been made in advance.
We do not have maid service so if you choose to use the kitchen, we expect it to be left in reasonable shape.
There is an extra charge of $10 per person per night for more than two people.
We loved the Eola Hills Hideaway - it is truly serene and a lovely view.
Linda and Craig were wonderful hosts - very thoughtful and warm.
We stayed for 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. The beds were comfortable - the kitchen well set up and breakfast on the deck was delightful.
This is an excellent getaway spot. Linda and Craig are great hosts. They are responsive and excellent to work with. The flat is better than expected. Very spacious and the full kitchen is wonderful. We will stay here next time we are in Salem.
My mother and I thoroughly enjoyed the secluded apartment. Particularly the deck with a sweeping view of the valley where we sat and enjoyed the wine we bought at nearby wineries.
Our stay at the Eola Hills Hideaway was amazing! Everything was better than advertised and our hosts, Linda and Craig, went out of their way to make us feel welcome. This is a very private and secluded location set within the beautiful countryside of the Willamette Valley. I will definitely book again for my next stay in Oregon. My experience could not have been any better.
Linda is most gracious and thoughful host. Our stay was undeniably the best place ever.Looking forward to a repeat stay.
This is truly a hideaway, in the best sense of the word: we felt so relaxed during our stay at Linda's place, away from any noise, free to contemplate the beautiful fields and trees. Linda and Craig made us feel at home from the very first moment. They are wonderful people. Thank you for the opportunity to rest, relax, and watch and listen to so many wonderful birds.
Linda's apartment was the perfect choice for a weekend getaway! The 4 of us stayed there while visiting wine country and it was in a wonderful location, close to many wineries and good local restaurants. But it is also secluded from the main road so you are all by yourself. The house itself has a great outdoor deck for sitting, and a full kitchen inside. Would not hesitate to stay again!
About the Host, Linda
I have been a craftsperson most of my life and have worked with jewelry, clay and glass over the years.
I was born in Eugene. My husband and I live on the farm I grew up on near Salem. I like to garden, travel and read. I currently have a shop on Etsy selling mostly vintage clothing.
My husband is a studio potter. He played drums in a R&R band in the '60s and has renewed his interest, currently taking drum lessons and sitting in at local jam sessions.
